That was my thought at first to try and get eggs from her but don't guess that possible.I thought Since she had very nice birds and was in state. They would have better odds of hatching.

Quote: Eggs actually do well shipped long distance too. It is really a matter of great packing and a good ridw with the USPS. SO don't feel you have to limit yourself.

Quote: ROFL improvement #1. they are FINALLY penned for the breeding season. i'll start incubating their eggs in another week or so, with hopes of purity sooner than later.
HaaaHaaaaaaaaa-- that is p rogress! I"ve learned the hard way that the "little buggers" can be good for weeks. Guess that is a good thing . . . . I wait a solid 4 weeks. ANd then still a chance. lol

All my BCM girls are penned and ready to go-- just struggling over which males to keep and which will be invited to freezer camp.

She is in School and working and lost most of her birds and some goats and geese too. She will be back she just has a lot on her plate.
School is a time sucker for sure . . then add the critters .. .

Having a weird hatch. Not sure what happened maybe temps dropped at some point. I put eggs in lockdown friday, they were due saturday. Only a few had hatched. Today I checked them several were shrinkwrapped (my fault I forgot to add water yesterday) but still not even half had hatched. I candled the unhatched and pipped eggs and they were still alive and looked like they may have just been pipping internally.... just strange. Looks like they will not hatch fully till Monday.... strange......

So next Friday I get to candle my turkey eggs to see if they are heading towards hatch or not. That will be day 14. Tomorrow is day 10 for the eggs. I was told to wait until at least day 10, but figured I need to wait until the 14th day since that is the half way mark. can somebody talk me down from trying to candle them tomorrow?
