Last month I ordered 42 hatching eggs from 4 different sellers on Ebay. Florida, Indiana, Washington State, and Kansas. The Washington State eggs were clears. Yes, I marked the eggs by auction.
50 eggs arrived. 30 made it to lockdown. 21 turkey eggs and 9 duck eggs.
Hatched
10 turkeys
4 ducks
Pipped Eggs
1 Turkey
4 Duck
Nothing yet
9 Turkey
1 duck
Dead in Shell
1 Turkey ( we have left this one alone, but noted it. and when the hatched are in the bator drying out they peck at this guy. )
Now I am trying to figure out my percentages and I am not sure should I go by what I ordered, what arrived or what made it to lockdown.....Yes, I am a bit confused and math is not my strong point. My strong points have been English and History.
If you have a tank water heater, fill glass jars or plastic bottles with lids with straight hot water and put them in there. Works really well so watch the temp. Replace them as needed with new water. Your hot water tank should stay hot for hours.

That's an awesome idea! I'll have to remember for next time!
Electric back on and heated back up! The pipped turkey is now zipping!!! Whewwwww!!! I was nervous!
CONGRATS! It's adorable! I had my first "loner" hatch last week. She's a Rhodebar and the only one to hatch from 14 shipped eggs and has now become a spoiled lap chick! I tried to put her in the brooder with the other chicks a few days to one week older but they picked on her relentlessly so now she has her own box and goes everywhere with me! What kind is your cutie?

Take # eggs fertile divide by the # set. For fertility. For hatchability take those hatched divide by those that hatched. Some people only count chicks that completely hatch not just pipped. Its up to person. What ever your looking for in percent divide smaller # by larger number. I hate math but good at it myself.
the way I calculate hatch rate is # of eggs that were fertile/developed divided by the number that hatched successfully... I don't count clear eggs, I do count blood rings (which very rarely happen in homegrown eggs) - except for shipped eggs, usps isn't my fault LOL
