I think I need help. I just filled my 90 egg incubator with EE, Polish x EE, Leghorn x EE, Call duck, and Runner Duck. Someone please stop me..LOL

I boill them, mash them shell and all and feed them to my chicks

do you find that adding egg to the chick feed improves growth rate and health because of the higher protein.

I give my dogs eggs and they seem to do better with them, but haven't done it with chicks.

Day's 7, 14, 18 for chickens ...

I am looking for the development of the embryo and the dehydration in the egg itself and the placement of the air sack as you will notice several od the guinea egg's in the photo are not in the correct place ......

My kids get to watch the development of the embryos and after all of these years they still get excited every time

And it also look's like I am doing it correctly when I take photos of my incubator

When I candle with my LED flashlight at day 7 I am looking for wigglers and veining. I did notice I have one sideways air cell. As they progress (day 14) what exactly do you check for with the air cells? What do you mark your eggs with? It looks darker than a pencil.

Air cells can tell you a lot as the chick grows but I have noticed that if the shape of the air cell goes out of round the embryo is passing or has passed another thing is the blood ring or again the passing of the egg so if on day 14, I have questions about any egg's I make a pan of 100 F water but right 100 F degrees and I set the eggs one at a time in the water if they sink the egg passed and If they sit really high in the water then again the egg passed but if the egg sits with a quarter of the way out of the water then you have a good egg and put it back ........

Good healthy veins are the best sighs of life in the egg but I cant really see into the egg so well anymore so that is what my boy is for and the bad part is he is getting ready to go off to college so I don't know what I am going to do then .........

I find LED to be the best flash lights around .........

Yes I have it steady at 99.5, but it was at 110 for a little under 2 hours.

On day 3 of my 2nd incubation I was groggy when I went to check on my incubator. I mistakenly turned the knob the wrong way when I saw it reading 102. I went back to bed for a few hours and when I next checked on it, the incubator read 106. I had 8 survive out of 36 eggs. It can be done but I think your chances are better than mine were since you had just put your eggs on. I would love for you to keep in touch with us and let us know what happens.

Thanks. I find it interesting the different techniquies and things that people look for. I am always learning something on this site. I take the parts that work for me and leave the others. The egg floating thing in interesting, but with working full time, I don't see that becoming a part of my incubation process.

I am very curious if my sideways aircell egg will make it. I know those are not the best positions. I need to keep an eye on it.

After searching the Internet to find some help or reviews for the P & I incubator, I've not had any luck. I'm having difficulty finding out how you set the humidity, and after reading some bits on forums, understand this is quite an important part of development.
Any help with this, or any other info about the incubator and tips on success, really would be greatly appreciated.

i have never really noticed the difference - though i give them to the chicks because they will get the most benefit from them and its such a waste to toss them
