You want one? I had 9 before I started culling and since I am getting 18 more eggs I figured I would just look for a new roo in that bunch. I have a Blue Copper Marans from PinkChick's Gnarls.
Thank you! I think they are so cute. I can't wait to see what the 6 I am keeping will look like. Looked up Blue Rocks last night and
those roos. I have I think 1 black Barred, 2 blue barred roos and the other I just don't know. I am keeping one of these from the day olds. He's one I had to hatch and is so spunky and looks so tiny since his down if matted still. Got to remember the toothbrush today.
Off to get eggs for this weekends BIG egg swap for my birthday presents!
. I need to get outside and keep building coops! Within a couple of days, my incubator will be EMPTY, can't have that oh no no no! But which kind of dual purpose bird will I try next....hmmmm....must be winter hardy and lay beautiful eggs and be a good meatie too...
I got my order of chicks today, you know, to hold me over until the eggs in my incubator hatch.
They sent 32 on my 25 chick order wowsers! Having these peeps to watch is keeping me from going insane staring at the eggs in my ECO at least. Oh wait, I'm ten days out from hatching. Hmmm. Time to start saving more eggs I guess!

Oh how I wish I lived near you! I love fried rabbit! I would be the crazy lady stalking through the grass on her belly at dusk trying get me some dinner.
Oh my goodness, to walk out on my back stoop in the morning with my coffee and see you hunting wabbits in my yard (In my head, I see you in a pink housecoat and bunny slippers) would probably keep me giggling the whole day!
I got my phone call! I got my phone call! Poor Impress, I called her from my driveway and made her talk to me all the way to the post office. Then called her back as soon as I got back in the van, because I had this:
The third box was in perfect condition. My mailman walked out the back door of the post office saying, "These look pretty rough, but I swear they were like this when I got them." Yeah, I know he'd be careful with my mail. Somebody just ... wasn't.
The inner boxes on these two boxes - one of them was perfect, and the other one was a little dented up. The eggs inside the inner boxes? So far, perfect. No cracks. I've washed and weighed, and next will go hide in the closet and candle - but so far, without having looked at innards yet, they look perfect. Despite the post office's handling of them.
To note: these had an inner priority cube box with bubble wrapped eggs, and the inner box was cushioned top and bottom with large-bubble wrap, and on the sides with empty styrofoam egg cartons. The egg cartons took the crushing of the box perfectly, without being so solid that they passed the force on to the inner boxes, as best I can tell. All in all, brilliant packing! Thank you, bargain!

Oh man... 300 eggs fit in there? I am in TROUBLE!!!
that makes sense, as I have none on one shelf at all, and my 50 eggs don't even put a dent in the other two shelfs... LOL...
I am in HUGE trouble...
that wagon is gonna show up with a white jacket... with VEEEEERY long sleeves!!!!
(good thing I'm already a divorcee... )
Oh, and I candled for my 'end of day 4' last night, and had to toss 5 eggies... three had air sacs that just floated anywhere when I turned the egg, that can't be good... one I could see the scrambledness in there, and the last had a blood ring that even I could see perfectly fine... the others from MY eggs seems to be doing well, most developing in there... but the shipped, crushed box scrambled... well, a lot of them look darn clear in there... probably scrambled...
one or two might have something... fingers crossed!!!
ok well, i don't know the ending of this saga yet, but the eggs went to the shop, which is the paypal address, but i had asked to ship to home, and make a note to call and i'll pick up the eggs.
hubby said box looked like someone used it for football practice,
smelled bad,
and had yolk leaking out of one corner.
these were my wheaten marans eggs... we'll see how badly mangled they are and if any are intact enough to put in the 'bator. i'll update more when he gets home but i'm not counting on any going in.
