I have them on a 100 watt now and have taken the heat away during the day. You live near me hot2pot so are you taking heat away completely at night right now or are you going to keep a light in there for them.

Would you just supplement on freezing nights?

I keep a light of some sort on at night to teach them to go inside at night. Once they reach a certain size, I let them run around the chicken yard during the day. Once they are fully feathered, supposedly they don't "need" a light but I would rather be on the safe side especially since I often have silkies in the group.Deb
