I have no progress on the pip and my peeper has stopped peeping. I'm not totally freaking out, but I am not NOT freaking out. On the freak out scale I'm probably a good five and a half.

Yay for your hatches!!!

well, looks like my broody's eggs started incubating over a range of days, so i'll be putting them in lockdown when they're ready, not all at once... cochin eggs should get here tomorrow, and i've (so far) got 9 dorking eggs waiting. I'm also going to set friday's egg(s) too, but don't want to stretch hatching over too many more days than i have to.

debating adding bantam eggs to fill the holes (if there are any LOL), but think grey's should be enough to keep me busy. (hopefully she'll be a good momma)...

cross fingers eggs get here on time. according to usps they're still in AR which is NOT near VA...

How would they still be in Arkansas? Weird.

I am in incubator withdrawal. I had to put my incubator away for the winter since it's already getting pretty cold outside so my brooder would not stay warm enough for the little babies. I am trying to talk my husband into building me a heated garage this spring so next year I will be able to hatch all year long lol. Do you think it will work?

You poor thing! I think that falls under cruel and unusual punishment. He had better get busy right away. I am working on my insulated room in the barn. I have about half the ceiling left to do. Cleaned out the old litter on the floor today . Hope to finish up soon. I have a triplex brooder in there, and getting ready to move another one in.

I was already thinking that I could add on more unit to the top for a triplex. Always thinking ahead

I think that I am also going to have to pack up my bator after my last batch hatches later this month. I will be in withdraw before the 1st of December. Oh..... that's my birthday.....Yeah. I think I might need to by myself some eggs for my special day

Well maybe I wont pack it up.....I DH has anything to do with it, it will be put away forever.

Oh, dear, I really do fit right in here. I've been dreaming about how to convert a section of the basement into a brooder! THe current batch of chicks are housed in the same room I sleep in and , well, being alergic ti chickens, breathing at night is becoming rather difficult. Last night I actually found another place to sleep!

Might be better to place the brooder in another room!!!!

Can't wait to shift everyone this weekend. BBW off to the butcher; BR poults out to the BR coop. 1-2 month olds mix with the 1 week olds--maybe. the older birs are hens and boy do they give use the stink eye and protect the littles. Really funny to see the little run for cover under the older birds. SO cute. BEt they will adopt the 1 week olds.

OOps need to work on another coop. Forgot I bought 2 roosters and oops forgot about the other 2--4 new roosters to pick up soon (for breeding).

I'm nuts.
