I think it is light not temps.... my breeding pens are shaded to much I think... might do some thinning if the good weather holds, now that hubby has a working chainsaw. 65* here today ans sunny

Forgot to mention... on top of the 4 doz eggs from Deb... I "won" some Blue copper marans hatching eggs.... 13 so far plus what ever is laid over the weekend

what have I done

I think I will sell most of the EE x Leghorn chicks and just keep a few. Got to keep all the lavs ... hum

That is going to be about 5 1/2 doz chicks possibly

I know they will not all hatch, half will be roos so that is not too bad

I have a broody should I try her out too? Did I remind you I have about 4 doz developing in the bator due Tues and next Tuesday

my husband is not happy with the 8 chickens I have now, he would never understand that many LOL
I am working on him for more.....24 is as easy as 8 right...

but will I ever stop ?????

Worked on moving the hay etc out of the goat shelter today. Got one load out before my back hurt too much to continue. Stapled wire to one of the panels DH built, then cut a piece of wood and installed in the other panel so I can add a door. Fed the critters, painted more wood for the run. Beautiful day today! I need to go put more eggs in the bator

Ok I finally put the eggs in lockdown, tossed some that I candled that made more room for the 4 doz eggs I needed to add to the incubator and left me 18 empty spots for the Marans eggs coming. If there are more than 18 maybe I can candle more to toss.... IDK wish me luck... this is the first time I have run the incubator at full tilt.

I think 3 WL x EE quit but I put them in the hatcher anyway. The batch a week behind, one lav split looks like it is not developing and I tossed 4 more WL x EE that were not developing at all. They might have frozen. If I don't have a great hatch with these eggs I might be ok...

I just put 48 more eggs in the bator Making progress on the new coop. Tired, but need to go out and look at the chicks in the garage one more time...

Wake up babies are hatching! I had 8 out yesterday! 1 Lav 3 lav splits 3 ee x leghorn crosses and 1 blue rock of some sort?

Can't wait to see what is in there this morning. Several more had pipped.

the NEW BYC!

Deb some of those eggs you got from me could be lavs!!! She may be the only one laying since the moving around, I have two egg since the move, I moved them to a pen that has more light and put my new Leghorns in that pen, the leghorns are laying everyday since I got them and this week 2 eggs woot! That means more to go in the bator.

I think I have the marans sold

(I have 3 people lined up since last night, maybe because BYC was down

) so I can clean the brooder out and start adding new babies. Or because someone was selling them for $10 each for day olds WTH and I had 6 for 20 (they just had to go and it is a bag of feed right)
