Hi my name is Kym, I am new on BYC ....... I too have incubationitis and currently have 3 incubators full of eggs and more waiting to be put in as soon as incubators are vacant again. It truly is addictive and my husband thinks it is a illness with no cure available.

I think he is right

I seriously have been thinking about getting #4

It is not so bad when they are sold as soon as the leave the hens rear, I bubble wrap them and off they go but if there is a slow spot of no buyers they stack up and what you do ??? You gotta incubate them right ?????

I would love to have one that held that many eggs but it probably is a good thing I don't ..LOL.. I just use the Little Giant styrofoam ones from TSC they hold 41 eggs each and all 3 stay running all the time. Honestly they have lasted longer than I thought they would.

dont fill bad I will be building me 3 500 egg incubators ...tho i will fill mine

Suddenly I feel better about myself, my illness could be alot worse, I think I will show hubby last couple of post so he can see my illness is not as
progressed as it could be for as many years as I have had chickens

One incubator with runner duck eggs. Another one with chicken eggs. Hubby is building me several beautiful chicken pens with four-star nesting boxes. I might or I might not spend a good part of my day sneaking around looking for guinea eggs. Warming up another incubator for Pheasant eggs to go in tomorrow. Brooder full of two-week old BW quail. Meeting a lady Saturday morning to get some more chicken eggs. Can't WAIT.

I obviously have a problem. Care to sit next to me?

I sell the chicks...I will have a little over 100 hens when I am ready to go again..I will have 1 incubator hatching every week from march to june
