We are glad to help.

How many eggs are in? Are the other eggs looking like a day 7 or all of the eggs. If it is only one egg, you may need to sacirfice the one to keep the others on track, however if it is all the eggs, you may need to take further action.

Some pictures are an exaggeration of the result you are looking for. Look at the post with the 2 diagrams; I use the bottom diagram. I think the top diagrams shows too much moisture loss.

Remove any and all water from the incubator. I mention this because some people do have water in it and call it dry incubating.

You can possibly increase the ventilation if the incubator allows ( your model is not one I have used) a larger opening and will increase the heat out put to compensate.

Silica gel packs from pill bottles.

Blow a fan across the incubator and monitor the effect on the temperature.

THee are the few things I know. I'm sure there are more ideas to come.

honestly i wouldn't change anything. you'd be surprised how well they can catch up with others as they start hatching.

If the other are ok.... wait and see. I did have one that had a blood ring and I don't toss till day 14. When I candled them it had a little wiggler at day 14.... I did toss that egg..... WAY to far behind. Mark it and watch. If the others are doing I wouldn't change anything either.

so i've got wooden and plastic eggs in there now and know where to check, so

I looked and there are no HIDDEN stashes of eggs in the pen.... they can't get out.

On the other hand..... I got my BLRW and some BBS Copper Marans yesterday in the mail..... Setting them and my Super Blue Egg Layers and Cuckoo Marans..... and what ever else I can find .... Lavenders and Splits and Wheatens...... LOL

Tomorrow is lockdown on some hired BLRW and a few others. Got to clean the hatcher today. Brooders are clean and ready to go. I only have 2 brooders empty.... need to scoot some chicks around or some big birds so I can have more grow out pens.

Donna, the cuckoo marans chicks are awesome!!! THe chicks are huge being from huge eggs and all. And the coloring is a blue-black-white marbling. VERY pretty chicks. Most of the OE hatched, too. Only 2 eggs not hatched, yet . . . ..

ok got a question... i had a marans egg pop on me in the incubator. didn't gte on any other eggs but left a nice stink/mess. i've relocated all but 2 eggs to the other 'bator, but i have 1 i'm curious about. when i candled the others you can see a bit of an air cell (kinda) but 1 looks dark all the way thru. same batch of eggs as the on that popped... should i risk gunking up my clean 'bator or can it 'just in case'?

Interesting question Karen. I have eggs that look dark , like no air cell but the timing is all wrong. It should have had a good size air cell by then, but still a week from hatching. Had me so confused. I would like more info on this too.

ok well i went back to doublecheck it, and the top incubator smelled funky already, so i took it back out. put in a ziplock baggie and cracked the egg. OHMYGAWD! it about exploded when i cracked it, with icky yellow/green watery goo. glad i thought about the baggie... so now the turner is disassembled in the sink and soaking (motor removed). i cleaned up my spare turner and inserted a quail rail while i was at it... so now i've got 1 lonely little cochin egg with 20 quail eggs, waiting on some turkey and cochin eggs to get here later this week.

ok side question. will turkey eggs fit in a regular sized egg turner?

oh and for your eggs arielle, do you have others of the same breed to compare to? if you can see spaces on the others and not on a couple, then i'd say sacrifice one to see what's going on. but the first thing that tipped me off was the smell... that's when i started looking closer and found the asploded one... didn't really explode, but quietly oozed...
