Ok now I have done it

almost every egg HATCHED WTH? I had 11 baskets and I know 5 or 6 had 100% hatches, some have eggs a day older so tomorrow will tell the tale on them. Only 2-3 pipped and zipped and died and I think less than 10 eggs didn't or hadn't hatch yet. That is probably pretty close to 100 chicks.... again! I am going to have olive eggers running out my ears..... I will sell some of those for sure. I think I have a lavender in one basket. (This is my best hatch of AM eggs I think only 1 didn't hatch maybe 2)

I know I will sell all the Black Barred rocks (I don't need them, I need the blues), maybe I should try to sell some SBEL since most all of them hatched too, 17 more I think. With that and some Olive Eggers that should thin it down pretty quick. I think I need to go to a flea market to sell them ASAP. My roo guy sold most of his birds by noon

I will give them a week on CL and then maybe go to sell them. I need to thin out a few brooders anyway.

He sold them at a flea market??? Seriously???

I think I might have a problem. I just put about (and I'm not counting in case DH asks) 120 or so guinea eggs in 2 hatchers. I candled them all. What happened to 50% for shipped eggs?

DMRippy, 14/16 in the brooder. 2 DIS. Most are black barred but it looks like there's at least 2 blue. yay me! I needed some more BR regardless of the color. My second batch from you should be getting close to hatching.

Thankfully I am selling some guineas tomorrow.

I am not going to order any more eggs for a while.

Quote: So much for 50/50 ! THe blues sure are pretty.

This particular flea market has an animal section. I know they had all kinds of fowl. I think goats and rabbits... maybe more. It is a pretty big outdoor flea market in a rural community.

I came home with 22 white guinea

(didn't really like the environment but they were really little so I took a chance and they are doing OK)

Well, I'm going to unplug all my bators after this bunch hatches, or doesn't as the case may be.

  Did that sound convincing?

I said that too and then a dang customer just had to buy all of my chicks so now I HAVE to hatch more. Besides I just set guineas, RIR, and I have two more packages of eggs coming next week. So since I will make it through July without shutting it off there really isn't any point in doing it at all this summer is there? If these customers would just quite buying all these chicks!

ANd I just bought a nice speckled sussex and two of his hens and the previous owner is kindly sending me his business!! Guess there is no point in shutting off the incubator!!
