You need more chickens for therapy. I can arrange for you to get them all

You might have to pace yourself, but I have them ALL the time.
I go sit with the chickens on a regular basis...LOL

Right now the darn things are selling faster than I can hatch them out & I can't manage to keep any for myself!!!! Heading tonight to get 10 more laying hens (mine that were laying all got sold in the past 2 weeks), a Rouen hen, Indian Runner hen, some call duck babies, a pair of mottled cochins, 9 bourbon red poults,12 bourbon red eggs, a pekin duck hen, & a couple more roos (most of these roos will go to Mt Hope in 3 weeks if not sold before then). All I am getting rid of right away is the poults & a OEG bantam spangled split to lavender pair.

I NEED MORE CAGES!!!!!!!!

I just unpacked a box of lots of big beautiful eggs from her. So well packed and not a single crack, she is a bad influence, but this is my 3rd (I think) and so well worth it. Beautiful chicks.

The LG or little Giant is the one usually found at hthe feed stores. It is a very basic unit that is fairly cheap. Others have more tecnical controls and are more expensive. It's about choces.THese are the smaller units. Do you need a very large more professional size?? SOme poeple start small and in no time, need a huge one.

THe LG is readily available for small money; and we have a support group for the LG to learn the best way to manage this incubator. THis one is for someone who is willing and has the time to adjust the temperatures. IT is very adaptable.

Many other models. If you use the search feature to plug in the model, I'm sure someone has a comment on it.

Here is my opinion after lots of reading: every model has it quirks, and none of the smaller units are perfect. As long as there isn't a manufacturing defect, which can happen if rarely, they will all hatch chicks with proper management techniques.

Now are you totally confused??
every brand is going to have its quirks i think. i prefer the hovabator, because, for a styrofoam bator, it's easy to use, and if you break a liner or even the styrofoam shell itself gqf sells replacement parts for inexpensive... you could even upgrade your 1602 (little window type) to the picture window type easily, just buy a new top and move over the pieces.

for the 'bare bones' hovabators, LLL Reptile supply (www.lllreptile.com) has the best prices i've found for the 1602 and the ... can't think of the #, but the still air picture window variety. then i added some computer fans (complete with cell phone charger plugin) and turners. i've got 3 i use as incubators, with turners, and 1 i use as a hatcher (no turner, but all have fans). i will suggest tho, if you shop for computer fans, get the ones that have bearings, as the 'sleeve' style ones are bad for vibrations. killed one whole hatch with a bad fan, and learned my lesson there. but you can still get computer case fans for under $10 each, and i'm sure someone you know has a pile of old cell phone chargers. just make sure they say between 9 and 12 volts or the fan won't turn fast enough. i use a 9v charger on the one for the hatcher, as i didn't want a 'hurricane' going on in there, but a gentle breeze...

speaking of hatcher. 8) i've got a *surprise* WHITE cochin baby just hatched. egg said MF, i thought it meant mille fleur, doublechecked and it meant mixed flock (mixed color, pure cochin). so maybe i have a buddy for my (off) white pullet. and had another black baby from my self blue pen too this morning. got a red cochin pipped, and another mille fleur (from another breeder)... cochins galore, from 3 different breeders plus my own. but the temp was low on the 'bator and i didn't catch it right away, so they're hatching 2 days late right now. guess it's better than cooking them.

Mine holds 540 eggs, and I have never had the nerve to fill it up.... came close but just couldn't do it. That is a LOT of eggs. I think I would pull my hair out. You need some more eggs?
