Thanks for leading me to the right part of the BST. Now, if I can convence my son to let me sell some of our hatches, we can list them on there. Wow! Do ya'll do that w/ your chicks or eggs?
BOTH!!! You can post eggs or birds either one. You just have to watch on shipping birds & make sure you have any paperwork necessary for your state or the state you are shipping to. Local pick-up is WAY easier for birds.

Try to find local listing to see what the going price in your area is. Like craigs list.
Alredy tried that and nobody has been selling them for a while. I was told by a fellow local hatcher to keep em for a month and you can get $5 a piece for them but that seems high to me[/QUOTE]

thats what we get is five unless they order 25 or more

I bought quail at the Mt Hope swap this weekend & got a pair for $4 that came with 11 eggs (I asked to buy the eggs & she told me she would give me the eggs if I bought a pair for $2 per bird.)

lucky I wonder if the wife would like to take a trip to Ohio?

guess I'm doing ok to get five for butcher size.

I am usually good, but when I see eggs that could go for a reasonable price and it is on a customer wanted list I bid on them. Since I didn't win th bid I will probably just buy them from someone on here.

I tried to help you... I sent your post on the BST sections to someone I know that has BOTH, but her Legbars are not laying yet and her SFH got mixed with the others so she can't be sure of purity of the eggs.  I tried.....

Just another enabler! Trying to help me fill up the bator!

Thanks. I think I have found both. It is hard to get very many cream legbar eggs. Everyone only seems to have 2 or 3 hens.

Have you seen how much they cost  and then if you buy hatching eggs 1/2 are going to be roos... I only see them sold in set of 6 or so.  I just look... not interested in them, I don't need anymore breeds.

I am very aware of the price, but this summer has been great for selling for me so I can afford it. I should have some eggs by the end of this week!

Kids add an interesting dimension to selling. Mine want to keep everything, and the special ones I allow them keep are usually boys! Like I need another rooster!

Just so you know, grain prices will be increasing. THe drought report has put corn at 40% loss and soybeans is , I can't quite remember, 15-20% loss. ANd the hay fields are brown in many areas across the midwest. Feed prices are on the rise.

I know! Right now, I'm getting starter/grower and for a 50lb bag of Purina Medicated feed it's $17.99 a bag. For my ducks, they get Demor starter and a 50lb bag (unmedicated of course) is $15.99. Then, I have to get pine shavings for the coop and it;s $4.99 a bag (one bag covers a lot of ground). I also have to get shavings for my brooders for my chicks. It adds up quick. I need to put them on the BST now.

How did you set the fan? DOes it blow toward the ceiling/ wall OR onto the eggs? It should not blow on the eggs, just rearrange it later. For now shut off the fan if it blows on the eggs.

I find if an egg takes a long time from pip to hatch, it is more likely to have drying out problems.
I didn't put a special fan in it. It's an LG so, I just bought and LG fan and installed it. It was made for the LG incubator. I had 4 get sealed in & had to help them out. They are doing wonderful now. Thankfully, I was paying attention.

Thanks for helping me find the BST place on here. I'm going to have to put my chicks on here. Don't want to, but need to. How much do ya'll usually charge for chicks when it is a local pick-up? I have chicks right now from 1 day-5weeks old. I have no clue where to begin with all of this. My son wants people to come make an offer. I don't really like that idea. I like to know in advance what and who I'm dealing with.
