Another good thing about buying from bycers is that generally they are more willing to work with you to get more eggs if you have a zero hatch. I don't expect this service but it is nice when it is offered. eBay sellers come and go and I am always cautious about buying eBay eggs. There are a lot of bad sellers on there! I have gotten eggs that were just put into egg cartons and thrown in the box! The seller wouldn't even respond to my complaints that all the eggs were broken. They were reported and removed from eBay! Apparently I wasn't the Only one that had a complaint about them.

No response here either. I'm not really complaining because like Arielle said you just don't know what happened from point A to point B. I just have a feeling. I've found some on here that I will purchase from when we get ready to hatch again.

Arielle, how much do you get for you turkeys and EEs? I just saw that in your signature.

Thank you both for that information. I had no clue that the farther the better. Really? I was trying to get closer to me. Hmmm... I've had pretty good luck so far most hatches have been 50-70%. I don't know, I told my children for newbies I thought that was pretty dang good. I would love more but love what God gives you.

IMO, the BYCer want customers to have a good hatch. It makes for a happy customer. I have had many repeat customers. One time a box was totally crushed by the USPS. WTH? ANd it was a USPS box that couldn't stand up to their own handling. I called CS and didn't give in--took 10 minutes to get my shipping back, of course CD# was not reimbursed, and I shipped more eggs at my expense. That customer sends pictures now and then!!

Shipping is expensive. $16.20 to ship a medium box with a CD# , and that doesn't include packing material. To pack a dozen eggs in a smaller box invites disaster. Plenty of packing material all around. Best not to get cheep on shipping. HAAHAA, chicks on the brain-- meant "cheap" LOL

my best hatch rates seem to come from the midwest. further west = longer travel times, closer seems to scramble them a bit more, but not always.

I have Bourbon Red turkeys --eggs are 6 eggs at $2.50 each right now. Plus shipping. THe BR are lovely and have been very nice to my kids. THe year old toms-- the Muskateers-- free range all day and perch at night.

EE eggs are 12+ for $12. plus shipping Girls are running with a blue AMericana rooster and they are free ranging. He guards them well, but a hen that leaves the group is free game for the other roosters.

I have a beautiful 6 week old silver cockoo maran, Cookie. She is the sweetest thing. Sits on my daughters arm and talk or makes little cluck sounds. She'll stay as long as my daughter will let her.

are we allowed to point out the names of good ebay sellers?
the current blue cochin eggs of mine [six eggs] came from a seller on ebay UK,and have been candling them all-every single one of them has a live chick,am totaly amazed.
ten days to go and counting!

the seller checks fertility often,all poultry are DEFRA registered and theyre all vetted every year.
she sells rare breeds [well theyre rare to us in the UK].
they have some very uncalled for negative feed back left on them though,woud say to anyone wanting to buy off ebay hatcheries to always check why they have negs or neutrals,as there are some delusional headcases buying on ebay who cause the problems themselves but blame the seller.
