My JG pipped sometime today while I was at work. I hear it peep every now and then but nothing else. I sure hope it makes it and nothing is wrong with it.

Bigger birds seem to take forever. These darn little quail seem to only take about 30 seconds to pip, 2ip & hatch tho...YIKES!!!! They are everywhere!!!!

A tiny bit more of the shell is cracked. Sometimes, when I look in the bator, I hear a peep or see the egg rock for a second. I can usually see them breathing (when the piece of shell moves in & out) but with this one, I can't see that.

i use the same for quail/chickens/turkey/pheasant...
X 2...I dry hatch, usually even thru lockdown. My styrofoam bators tend to run rather high humidity anyway being in the basement & when the 1st little baby pips externally the humidity sky rockets to well above 60%. I've found that I can't get my babies to dry in the bator after hatch if I add any water at all & I lose a lot less after hatch running it dry.

I set my shipped Cuckoo Eggs... out of 23 only 4 are going into lockdown.... I am not holding out hope. I did set 8 EE and they were really kicking around

I didn't even get to turn the hatcher off between hatches

I was just awakened by the sound of a single noisy, beautiful BBS JG. It sure is tiny but the egg was too. Now, for a little sleep before my clock goes off in 1 hour.
