incubators for turkey eggs?

also heres another question, what do you do if your power goes out? i saw one model that had a car attachment for traveling, is that maybe a good back up to have incase pwer went out i could plug it in my vehicle? i probably sound silly but i just dont want to mess anything up!

bump, just waiting to hear what the difference and advantages are of the electronic thermo and the wafer thermo.?

I use a Dickey's and a GQF. You can find good deals from time to time if you check CL everyday. Sometimes for not much more than a LG with a turner and a fan! as for your other question, electronic and wafer thermos can both fail. Both of my cabinets have electric thermos with a wafer as a back up with the hopes they both don't fail. If the power goes out for too long, you are SOL if you don't have a generator or a broody! If it only stays out a few hours then it usually isn't a problem.

is an electronic thermo something i can buy seperately?

Depends on the bator. The LG's from TSC have an electric thermo but it is touchy! If you keep them in a room with no direct sunlight and the temp doesn't change more than 3-4 degs during the day, you will be OK. I used ond in the past and had great success. The key is no sunlight, low temp swings in the room and little adjustments because the knob is touchy. I took a dimmer knob for a light or fan switch and put it on the LG adjustment knob and it helps a ton to make those little adjustments.
