Incubators

What an incubator better than the other incubators? What makes one brand better than the other brands?

A lot of things, how it holds heat, how steady the temp is, does it have a fan or not, how even the heat is through out, how good the thermostat is, how easy it is to control the humidity, how easy it is to clean after the hatch, etc, etc, etc. What models are you looking at?? How much money you want to spend?

I am not looking to buy just wondering what makes one more expensive than another.

OK, lets do a work picture-----You can live in a $50 tent, but you can Live better in a $200, 000 home or $100,000. You can sleep(hatch eggs) in either, but you can rest better(have a better hatch) in the better home(incubator) You SEE the picture?? LOL

Some will hand turn eggs several times a day-----think---if you turn 40 eggs 5 times a day for 18 days by hand 85 to 90---(roll 3500 eggs) times, this incubation, plus next, plus next, next and next------man for about $40 you could have gotten a egg turner that should last YEARS to do all that turning----But that makes it cost more. MOST of the time the COST More incubators makes it easier and hatch better or Higher numbers. These mid range cabinets hold 200 to close 300 eggs---some cabinets hold 1000's, just gets more and more expensive.

Interesting I have seen people do better in a 40,000 dollar home than some in a 200,000 dollar home. I guess it is how much you willing to work with what you got.

I can understand that!!! I told my kids you can get just as wet in a $149 swimming pool from Wal-marts as you can in a $35,000 in ground pool!! And it saves Your Daddy $34,851. I am not sure they understood that.

I think it is more about looking at the home in terms of things like energy efficiency, though of course you need to be comparing price tags within the same market. It's not just about more square footage but also about having things such as up to date wiring and plumbing, insulation, absence of lead paint, and a safer neighborhood, which could that could make a higher price tag worth it.
