Hi Randy, great to hear about the date for the revision! I used a temp/humidity probe on my last hatch. It's by Hagen ....Exo Terra Digital Combination Thermometer/Hygrometer - Exo Terra PT2470.

I'm a teacher and so far have only used DIY incubators. I can make one for about 30-40 bucks. Your incubator is well within the price my school would reimburse - also it would be great to get something that looked a little more "refined" for the classroom. The one I'm using now looks like something out of the anarchist's cook book.

Well, that turner motor is a problem. The GC Maran egg that set closest to it is cooked.

Like I said...I thought that motor was too hot..and so I tested it with a thermometer BEFORE setting eggs in it...when it read 106F...I decided against using the turner this time and am turning the eggs by hand for this hatch.

If I have a number of quitters in the other bators, I'm seriously considering taking everything out of the InCubebator today and if they are alive, putting them in the hovabator.

I don't see how I'll be able to keep the humidity high enough in the InCubebator as I have to add water about every 3-4 hours now just to keep it at 35%. I have full days scheduled for Monday and Tuesday and I know I won't be able to get my wife to monitor humidity for me.

My personal feeling is, if you pull your eggs out of the IncuCube you aren't finishing the "beta test" for a new product. I think we are missing the point to testing this product out. Beta tests are meant to find faults and failures or weaknesses. We aren't here to PROVE how good a hatch we can get out of this. If you pull eggs now, because you WANT them to hatch you are failing this test and this company by not being able to provide full documentation of a first complete attempt at incubating and hatching.

I hate to say it, but if someone has set expensive eggs in these bators for this test, and you are worried about them not hatching you shouldn't have taken part in the test. We were not guaranteed even one egg would hatch...we are testing a product.

I loaded my Incucube full of quail eggs (Cortunix) partly because they will hatch in just about anything....so if I even get 1 or 2 to hatch, I'll consider it somewhat a success. If NONE hatch, it won't matter either, because eggs are cheap and plentiful..there'll always be another hatch down the road.

SO I say, for the sake of taking part in this valuable test for this new product, we all continue to test, which we agreed to do in the first place.

I'm not having humidity problems but you could drill a hole use a tube and put one bigger container in the bottom.....my turner motor is cooking it's working with sound effects and I have only 6 eggs in there so the eggs do not have to be right by the motor I hope he gets the new turners soon

I can't speak to why your experience is what it is.. shipping, bad luck, etc.. You have had to make many field adjustments to your unit and who knows how that has effected the success chart for you.

I have not recieved my bator yet but have been following your experience and others hoping to glean tips. I have never hatched a thing before and learning from everyones posts. I agree you should stick it out and give the manufacturer your results and work with them to achieve a better success down the road for your next attempt.

As I was sitting in church, all I could think about was your humidity problems....I got home and took some photos of my setup. I actually had to "ENGLARGE" one of my airslots to keep my humidity down to where I want it..I can always put a piece of tape over it..when lockdown time comes.....OH WAIT......DING DING DING.......bulb turns on!! If your humidity is dropping so quickly....have you tried putting some tape over 2 or even 3 of the airslots under the window? I also put an orange line on one side of my bator, so I knew what side always lines up with the bottom side for a good tight seal.
