We will have replacement turners ready to ship out on Tuesday of next week. The IncuCube Rev2 should be done then too, but there are a few things that could hang up there so we'll just say the turner for sure.
Thanks for the suggestions. So far we have never seen a thermometer/hygrometer with a remote sensor for both, if anyone knows of one please let us know.
Would you mind sharing what the humidity level is inside your house? I imagine that because you are in Arizona the humidity is much lower.
Just another thought for you, we did some testing a while back with the humidity cups being in stainless steel cups instead of plastic and it seemed that the stainless steel cups were able to raise the humidity much higher than the plastic cups. Wal-Mart sells a 4pk of Stainless steel Condiment cups for $1.00 or close to that. You could try 4-8 of those in the bottom.
from the windows coming off do you have any large gaps between the window and styrofoam? (Even if they are covered with duct tape)
Has anyone else had problems with the egg closest to the Egg Turner Motor? The motor is placed above the eggs so the heat will disparate upwards.
Randy I don't know I only have 7 in mine but it is very hot and makes noise just happy that it is still turning every time I check. I too live where it is dry and my humidity has been fine and no temperature swings like M has talked about. I do not think it has enough ventilation though I open mine everyday or two and do not plan on hatching in it for that reason and that it will very hard to clean. Did you say that you were working on a plastic liner? I might hatch it in it if I had one. Thanks for listening and trying to fix all the glitches I still like it and the size is wonderful

Why not lay cheese cloth or a fine quality paper towel in the bottom to protect the bator during hatching. We use cheese cloth in our Genesis. Since this is a Beta test, everyone should hatch in it as well. Many of us are watching this test. I am watching to consider recommending this bator to our 4H members.
Ok WOW....I just did a little test today. I honestly don't know how Mahonri can loose so much humidity. my humidity has been staying in the 40-45% range with just two cups of water full. I thought I'd do a little test today and just dump about 1/2 inch of water into the bottom of the bator.....within about 15 minutes, my humidty was reading 58%
so the humidity, for me as fairly easy to adjust and maintain....I just don't know why Mahonri's levels drop so drastically.
I'M NOT TOO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!! I just went into lockdown today with this bator. I took out the turner and put all my eggs in a carton on the wire mesh. I calibrated two different temp/humidity guages before I started to make sure they were accurate +/- 1-2 degrees. I left my one temp/humidity guage where it was during the first 19 days velcroed to the side out of the way of the turner and eggs. When I went to lockdown I put the other one on the wire mesh next to the egg carton. It has been 9 hours since lockdown and I had to bump up the temp some this morning due to the output of the heat from the turner. I just checked the temp and the one that is mounted high in the bator was 101.4 and the other on on the wire mesh was only 96.4. I filled all 5 of the cups full of water and my humidity is at 55% on the top one and 70% on the bottom one. Again, I did the salt calibration 2 different times on both of these hygrometers. Any ideas what I should do???
