Incuview Incubator Woes. Advice Needed

2x aart - Was wondering what that ambient humidity(in the brooder room) is?

When I "tested" my brand new Janoel 12 it ran 30% - 45% without any water. The ambient temp in the room was about 70% - 80%. Added water & the humidity in the incubator shot up. So did some reading about "dry" incubating, which I will try one of these days.

How is everyone’s humidity? I’ve been using the incuview for 5 days now and have to add water on a regular basis. Initially I was using the putter ring as per instructions, but I’ve moved to filling the inner ring only after reading that suggestion online.

I have the incubator in my classroom and I am not able to monitor the humidity on the evenings and weekends unless I take the incubator home (which I had to do this weekend).

Any suggestions how to keep the humidity steady for a longer period of time???

Did you calibrate your incubator prior to putting your eggs in?
Are you using additional hygrometers?
What are your humidity readings? Range?

You could also call the Customer Service for any question, have read about the good service there.

my instructions had an attached paper that said to use the inner ring until lockdown.

I’m only using what came with the incubator. I tried to get everything stable before adding the eggs but have no had success and had to put the eggs in. I’m able to keep in in the 35-55% window but have to add water a few times a day.

Are you opening lid to add water, then giving it at least 30 minutes to stabilize before taking a reading?
Are you filling the trough all the way up?
35-50% is good for the first 18 days of chicken eggs.
It's not the day to day humidity that is critical, but the humidity average over the first 18 days. Candling and tracing your air cells can help gauge if your humidity is too high or too low, some folks weigh egg to determine the amount of water evaporating from eggs.
