Eggs are supposed to lay on their sides in the incuview. It's not an upright egg turner.

I am aware, they are on their sides and orientated as indicated in the instructions

It turns them from the correct orientation to the wrong one
one. They should all lay longways in the tray, but are pushed crooked or sideways.

So far they seem to eventually roll back right but my tray seems to catch on the bottom mesh whenever it goes far enough in one direction and makes for a sudden bump. It has made the ride rough enough that I've pulled 5 button quail eggs due to cracking! I need to get in there, find whatever tooth is causing it, and file it down.

Those of you that have hatched with this in the winter months, did you struggle at all with keeping the humidity up? How often are you needing to add water? I thought I've been struggling with it a little bit and it's GOT to be user error. Any tips?

I haven't noticed any change in how often the humidity needs checked. If you are used to using still air incubators, forced air incubators do need to be checked more frequently than still air.
I check mine morning and night.

I've never hatched at ALL before, so I'm flying as blind as can be LOL. I did find the section earlier in the thread that talks about similar humidity problems to what I've been experiencing. The past couple of mornings, I've woken up to it being at 10%. I had my husband finally put just shy of 1/2 cup in the tray today around 1pm which brought it up to 62% or so. Now it's hovering around 51% and I'm trying to just let it be. I'd like to wake up and it NOT be dry as a bone. I think I'll be okay, reading through the previous comments. I just want so badly for these eggs to hatch. I get so discouraged easily and would hate it immensely with this hatch.

There are three trays for water. You do need to be careful about which tray you are adding water to. You only want to fill the inner-most tray to start with.

The instructions say the outer most tray first :/

Either one will work, its just a guideline to get it all started. Depending on the user this will need to be adjusted to suit their environment. Best of luck.

The humidity is now holding steady with the addition of enough water. We haven't had to add any in over 24 hours now. I'm pretty sure my problem was not adding enough because the initial spike in humidity the first time I ran it spooked me. Don't get spooked! LOL
