Just had my first duckling hatch this morning, had to assist it had been at it over 48 hours. Thinking maybe I kept the humidity too low throughout the process because the membrane was tough. 4-more are pipped.![]()
The turner is off, they surprised me pipping early and I'm afraid to pull them all out and remove it and risk messing up the humidity in the incubatorI'd get the turner out of there.
Quote: Yeah, a little late now.... but after cleaning the hatching gunk off that turner, you'll never again forget to take it out on lock down day.![]()
The issue with keeping the turning tray in is a safety concern. Chicks can get stuck, legs can get wedged, it's just not a good idea to leave it in. Remove ASAP. A few minutes is not going to hurt anything. The turner is off, they surprised me pipping early and I'm afraid to pull them all out and remove it and risk messing up the humidity in the incubator
The hatch timer is only set for 21 days. You can't change it. It's either on or off.
Just saw this.. I can change my hatch timer to whatever days... and also turn it off all together.
