Hello,
I now have 2 new additions to the flock, two India Blue chicks.
Just wondering how to tell if they are male or female?
Both seem to have 2-4 springs of feathers that stand up on top of their heads. Both brown at this point, just wondered what the signs might be for male female and at what age can you definately tell a difference?

Thank you all!
Angela

These are purple ,but same for the blues, look at the back feathers ,base of the neck. Male on the right, female on the left, Note, the barring on the male. should be able to sex at 2 months.

Hey Deerman! Thanks for that info and the picture. I've been wondering the same thing myself. I have a 5 and 1/2 week old peachick and four 4-week-old peachicks. Now I know what to look for in another month or so.

Deerman, I pm'd you with some questions about peachicks. Please check your messages and let me know if you got it. Thanks!

Meanwhile, Angela, GOOD LUCK with your peachicks. Aren't the little feathers on their heads just soooooo adorable. On my Peabody they stick every which way but straight up. He's a hoot!! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine.

Hope you both have a GREAT DAY!!
