Hi there
We have a family of Runner Ducks, 1 x Drake and 4 females who were happily mating and producing fertile eggs. We introduced 3 more young females {not laying yet}and a new young Drake from another flock. Our original Drake has stopped mating with the females...they have clean water and a new pond...the girls are laying daily …. does anyone have any ideas as to what we need to do to bring the romance back?

My Runner drake hasn’t had a drake feather in almost a year sure doesn’t keep him from mating . My youngest lost his drake feather two month ago he’s going strong. Adding new birds to a flock can upset them but like @DuckyDonna says won’t be long before you’ll be wishing they’d let up a bit. lol

Possibly he is in eclipse? Has he molted? Lost his tail feather? Takes a couple of months if in eclipse.
Thank you for your response, he has had a change of plumage, so lets hope its that! I had not heard of Eclipse so that's good advice.
