Indian Runners

I had first gotten the idea from a great article by the Indian Runner Duck Association, based in the UK. They even talked about sprouting the wheat, but I haven't had much experience with that. The biggest thing for me is that wheat is the only thing my IRs aren't scared of. They are truly frightened by corn, peas, and even bread crumbs. Who ever heard of a duck that was scared of bread!? So now their treat is wheat.

That's funny I ferment feed for my birds . I haven't found anything in the food department that they are afraid of.

I read that same article. I have a 6 grain scratch[no corn] that I might try under water and see how that goes. Only problem here is they muck their water up so bad after about 30min they won't be able to see anything in the water.

You have fawn and white. One color I'd love to have but none of the eggs hatched. I got blue, black and silver. Shipped eggs.

How do you feel NT the food? That is something that I may want to try .

My f&w (Wanda) has historically been somewhat broody. In fact she has hatched one (impressive, I know). I recently allowed her to build up a clutch to incubate herself, but when there were about 6 eggs a rodent came through and decimated the entire nest. Needless to say I bought an incubator online that night.

My 4 other birds are various colors, and I am not sure any are official IR varieties. I can't wait to see what diversity their different pairings will produce!

I just realized how ridiculous my autocorrect changed my question. How do you FERMENT the food?
