I just got five Indian Runners about a month ago. I have a pond and ten acres of land. They are doing excellent. I expect them to start laying in a couple of months. What I don't know is this . . . is there any way to make them lay in designated areas? I don't think I can go Easter egg hunting every day on ten acres. Any ideas on what to do?

They are going to have a house for night time ? My Runners lay before I let them out in the morning that’s the trick give them a nice comfy soft bedding and don’t let them out at the crack of dawn I usually wait till around 7:15 to let mine out. When they first started laying I did find some by the pool or randomly drop on the ground but they all lay inside now

I also let my girls out a little later to encourage laying where I can find the eggs. I have one runner that will actually return to the nest in her house if she needs to lay later in the morning. But, will say that when I find the random Easter Egg out in the yard it’s not in a hidden nest like a chicken would do. It’s usually somewhere hilarious like in the middle of the pathway, or out in a clearing, or next to the feed or water. It’s like they’re going about their day and just pop an egg out when they feel the urge. So silly!
