HA! They are cute AND ugly at the same time. I've heard they are great for bugs in the garden.

NOISY... the whites are noisier but i am glad they are, they alert if anything is unusual... this includes a plastic bag in the wind... a loud car...

But they are great for the garden and don't eat your plants.
They SCREAM their little heads off if a hawk comes, they have excellent eyesight.

You'll want more than one, at least a pair. They're a lot of fun--look like little helmets running around, but really noisy.
They do tend to roam, so unless you have understanding neighbors (I didn't!) you'll need to keep them penned.
I sold all of mine this fall because I thought that I would be moving by the end of the year and was trying to downsize. However, I haven't found a place yet, but plan to get some more once I'm relocated.
Before I had to pen the guineas my blind cattle dog would herd them; she could hear them and it gave her something to do. I hated to take that away from her.

I had a total of 8, gave away 3 cocks, still have 2, had 3 hens, but one was crippled when she came here. she passed away last summer. so now 2 hens 2 cocks. I love them, and would like to get more. You can eat the eggs, the french consider their meat a delicacy! Haven't had to buy any, most people don't seem to keep them long. These were all given away!
