INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Does anyone on here breed and sell golden laced and/or silver laced wyandottes?

I am looking for a good source for chicks this coming spring. I am wanting 6 of each. I would prefer 5 pullets and 1 rooster of each silver and gold.

If you have any information on who breeds and sells them please let me know.

Thank you!

Okay LeahsMom, here is our setup. I did it in panorama, so it doesn't look exactly like this. Our coop sits at an angle, and the pasture isn't that wide, but between the coop and the tree we have a very heavy weight (couldn't tell you what) fishing line strung. Then from the tree to a tree behind where I was standing, and back to the coop. Sort of in a triangle. I also have it by where the blue tarps are by the barn in between the trees because that's where our hawk attack was this summer. There is a owl decoy right behind those tarps on a fence post, and one at the far end of the pasture. In case you were wondering, the plastic and tarps are only there for the winter, for wind breaks.
Is it just a single strand - just one big triangle? Or a web?

Right now just one big triangle, with the closer together trees webbed a bit. I would like to add more, I just haven't gotten to it yet. I don't have trees on the far side of the pasture, so I'm trying to figure out how to do it. It had to be at least 10 feet up, since the alpacas run around out there.

I've been thinking a little about my area and the fish line. I'm wanting to do something that they won't just fly under so I had this idea.

I was thinking about putting one of those dog tie-our stake things in the ground outside the fence area where it is open. Then attaching the string to the ring in the tie-out thingie and then stretching it across and up high in trees a across the way. Kind of spreading out from the ground and fanning out into the trees. Or I could just tie one low on a tree stump out there and then going higher on the other side.

Idea being a bit more coverage and if I would have several ground level areas to tie to ...going up from there...it might keep them from just going right underneith

Have to think it all through, though. It might not work depending on traffic area, lawn mowing, etc.

I would be cautious having it that low, that your chickens wouldn't get tangled in it. Mine would for sure if my line was any lower. They are nuts.

The silkies love leaves! Booker and his girls. I can't wait for their babies to try it. :)
