INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Alright, looking for feedback on products! I got an email from JeffersPet that Rooster Booster dewormer was on sale. I'm still needing/wanting to deworm my flock and guess I never knew rooster booster had a dewormer. Here is the link:

Has anyone used this? Looks like it's made for poultry and has not withdrawal period for eggs. Also looks like it has other benefits than just deworming. I might give this a try but would love to heard some feedback.

Second product I'm curious about, I stumbled a crossed it in my local Big R when pricing their feed.

I already use stall dry or sweet pdz in the coop when I lay new bedding down. I think I may add this to the mix. Looks pretty harmless, but again just curious if anyone else has used it.

I'm on BYC's pitiful mobile format on my iPad. No color -- no extras -- just black text.
Re: Halloween night-- It was windy with a little rain, but we were lucky that the severe weather passed by us. Hope everyone and their flocks stayed safe!

Amwchickin-- I am so sorry to hear about all that you, your family, and your flock has been through! I can't imagine! You are such an excellent example of a responsible chicken owner who notifies Purdue, has testing done

I was relieved to see that CRSelvey remembered how to type and post! After her vacation, I was afraid that she could only communicate by lighthouse signaling. : - ) (No emoticons on this mobile format either!)

bradselig-- over the summer I bought "Poultry Protector" spray for the hens when the gnats were swarming, and we bought several brands of "natural" bug spray for humans. I also bought some "natural" flea spray for cats. ALL of the products contained various oils similar to what's listed on the Livestock Fly Swatter package. The oils helped, but had to be applied often. It might be cheaper in the long run to buy several of the oils to sprinkle in your coop although you might google: chickens citronella oil etc. because I wonder if some would be irritating to breathe while in the coop at night. Just a thought. I need to put some lavender oil in mine to see if it would help calm my five mean hens to prevent their nightly battles over their seating chart.

Amwchicken, part of my post to you was deleted-- you were also smart to have researchers visit your place and record all findings! I think you were also wise to say that you're going to have the soil tested in the spring, too, instead of relying on hope that freezing temps kill the bad organisms. Best wishes to you and your spring flock! Please stay with us on the thread to share your wish list and plans!

Well I think my favorite light colored chick is splash. She definitely isn't white. I just love her. She needs a name though.

She is too sweet! Peanut is a cute name too.
I lost power several hours. just came on. Of course I had 60+ eggs, mostly quail in the incubator. Worried for the OEGB eggs, and my quaill!
2 of the OEG had hatched. The 3rd is pipped.
Poor lil chicks, I have them wrapped in my shirt to keep them warm.
Hope the bators resume heat pretty fast My kerosine heaters ar helping but gees, its not enough

OH they do argue! M2H don't let it worry you. Its just a part of their nature. I use the walmart cheap brand of OFF spray and it seems to keep the pests off the birds. I also use the pour on ivermectin, very good product for any type of parasite for my main egg flock twice a year.

Good morning back at you. We got a lot of rain yesterday also, the rain gauge shows 2.2'' from yesterday morning until now. I thnk the rain stopped about midnight or maybe 1 AM. Chickens should be safe, they were locked up in their coop/run last night as always. They were looking pretty funny for a while yesterday afternoon all soaked from the rain.

Bad- I've not seen that product, looks good though!! I'll have to look for it!

Jchny- hope it didn't hurt your hatch!!;)

We didn't loose power here and I'm really surprised. Or power either. The tv and Internet had some glitches though. I was up till almost 1 watching the weather. Don't do good with high winds!!! And we got exactly 2 inches of rain. I would've guessed more.

M2H. On my iPad, at the bottom, I can change from Mobil to desktop. The desktop is a bit better I you want color.
