INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

well they shouldnt ask for anything. If they are wanting to sell them i would go else where and find them for free. Getting them for free is one of the whole points of using pallets.

They usually have to pay a disposal fee to get rid of them. So you are actually helping them out too

Win/Win on both sides!

Do you have ducks cluck acres? Wish there was water near us to have them. Flat and open fields here.

Yes. You dont have to have water near you to have ducks. Just get one of those round blue kiddie pools and fill it up with water. Also have other drinking bowls for them. They use the water to clean them selves and clean out there sinus's plus drinking. lol During winter is little harder since you cant keep water in the pool unless you have it heated. lol

Hello! I'm just getting started reading through the thread. I'm from the Mishawaka/South Bend/Elkhart area. I want to say more later but right now I wanted to just put this out there.

I have a broody who has, so far, hatched one chick. I took a look at the others tonight and I may end up with only 1. That is my dilemma. I would prefer her to have hatch-mates to grow up with for all the reasons you already know.

So...I'm putting it out here in Indiana - does anyone know where I can get somewhat locally hatched day-olds to add to the brood from a healthy flock? I'll drive a couple hours if needed. I do have preferred breeds but thought I'd throw it out here first and see if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks!
