INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Has anyone been on the new I69 in southern Indiana? I was today and it was so nice to be able to drive a mice straight (comparatively) road!!!!! I was on between 231 and us 50 and it was very nice, saw some things that could have been improved in my opinion but it was very fun to be able to shave several miles and several minutes off my usual route....

I had deer netting over the free range run and it collapsed from all the snow. I'm not sure what we did wrong. So for now the chickens are confined to coop run.

Anyone bought any animals from Dinkys? I was curious and did not ask fast enough.

I haven't, but had friends and knew some on here have, just look up on the threads on what symptoms of sick chickens for respiratory and other illnesses and quarantine instructions if you have chickens already so you know what to avoid at Dinky's (or any other 2nd hand chicken re-homing situations) and you will do fine.... they are like any other auction house or other 2nd hand selling operation some good deals some over priced deals some junk some good stuff....

I am glad they did it, but it was sure a nightmare when they had everything tore up here... poor hubby is a truck driver and it was getting pretty confusing for dispatch to give him the right exit numbers. Our exit 5 and 10 are like 205 and 210 now, etc. Dispatch doesn't understand so much since they aren't out there seeing it. I know it will make things much faster visiting family in Tell City once that's done there. Can't wait.

Hello! I'm just getting started reading through the thread. I'm from the Mishawaka/South Bend/Elkhart area. I want to say more later but right now I wanted to just put this out there.

I have a broody who has, so far, hatched one chick. I took a look at the others tonight and I may end up with only 1. That is my dilemma. I would prefer her to have hatch-mates to grow up with for all the reasons you already know.

So...I'm putting it out here in Indiana - does anyone know where I can get somewhat locally hatched day-olds to add to the brood from a healthy flock? I'll drive a couple hours if needed. I do have preferred breeds but thought I'd throw it out here first and see if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks!

I just saw your post, somehow I missed a couple on that page. I am afraid I don't, but there's a few of us close to your area... Any luck finding a nest mate yet? I did just get an order from Mt healthy but they are a week behind on the hatch to ship dates.

here's hoping you found some!
