OK question for all of you. I started feeding my chicks Dumor poultry chick starter. Fed them maybe 20lbs. Went back to get a 50 lb bag and when I opened it I noticed it was darker. So I started looking at the packaging. What I bought is actually Dumor chick starter/grower.

Ummm...which one am I supposed to be feeding 1 and 6 week old chicks? Have I hurt them by them getting too much protien at this young age?
I am guessing its the starter/grower. I have mixed what I had left with equal parts of the new. Their poo is soft. Is it normal for the poo to change with the protein amount/new food even though its the same brand?
Thanks,
Deb
And yes, both of my brooder boxes are in my bedroom. A larger one is being build today for the 6 week old, so we can put them into the garage. Still too cold for them outside. Still need to build the coop. Which is gonna be up in about 3 weeks. And I truly can not wait until they are all outside! It was nice at first, relaxing to hear the cheep cheep. Now, yea, not so much. Love them, but I have a feeling I will love them so much more outside. And the dust, I dust daily!
hmmm, that might be a bit high for layer chicks. But i am pretty new to the layer babies myself... Anyone with baby experience care to comment? I know that's a good rate for meatbirds.
