M2H: thanks for asking. Yes i make hair bows and hair clips for little girls as well as selling homemade, preservative-free dog treats. I will have to keep my eyes open for those LED lights! Yes i have been lurking around, but only to catch up as i was majorly behind in posts

JCHNY: you have some nice looking cows!!! I wish we able to afford some land so that we could have some cows as well.

I was on the way to a church class this evening and on the way there, i encountered a large uprooted tree that was laying across the road near McCordsville. I hope everyone else is doing ok and didn't have anything major happen. Hope everyone has a good Monday!!!!

My future SIL has a tree on his house, Atlanta got hit bad! We haven't looked over the whole property yet.
Kokomo had some pretty severe damage too.

jchny ~ I thought I'd check in to see if you were able to get the calves. I figured that with this weather, you wouldn't have been able to get them and you'd be disappointed. Surprise! You even had photos posted. They are so sweet. I can't believe they are that young. I would want to spend the night with them!

I'm glad we haven't heard about any really terrible news (injuries) associated with the storms and our members. Even though our local stations are Evansville's, it seems like all they ever talk about is Kentucky-- or Illinois!

Hope everyone and there friends family's and animals are ok I was away from.home all day I happened to get caught in it but I was in the basement thank gosh but they don't have power now cause of it :/ but my house is ok it has power and no trees down that I know of

I am so glad you are ok AL, its blown past us now. We drove though a lot of it, saw a lot of downed trees.
Several accidents on 69 from people stopping on the highway and not pulling off to the side.
Saw rain so hard there was no way to see the road even!

DH was so determined! We missed it going up, gees it was awful coming back!
Rain and snow doesn't bother him, but he actually pulled off to a rest stop it got so bad.
Kokomo is in state of emergency, disaster status and am praying for the residents there.
Cassys DH to be has probably lost his house. Massive pine tree on the roof!
That tree is huge, and she sent Brad pics, the inside you can see the ceiling falling in.
Nik is just beside himself, so upset. He keeps saltwater tanks and has probably lost all his fish.

After seeing on the news all the destruction from last night we consider ourselves very thankful and lucky we just minor inconveniences. The storms had almost passed through us but there was another cell left. The weatherman on TV said it could have 80mph winds with it. We could tell it was getting windy and then saw a piece of plywood board fly across the back yard from a pile....the wooden swingset/playhouse blew over with a few boards cracked. My husband thinks it's still usable -- we'll look at it better when he gets home today. Of course we had just repainted it and replaced the swings, etc. this summer! We also had the portable shed/shelter that we use to store hay blow up and over backwards with the back anchors still in the ground. Not sure if it will be salvageable or not. As soon as it was safe enough to go outside we piled rocks on the canvas of it so it wouldn't blow off somewhere and then scrambled to find places in the barn to stash about 40 bales of hay before the next rain hit about 30 minutes later. We were able to get all the hay in with some wet, but we think we can get them dried out enough to still be usable. It was our only good cutting of hay since our first cuttings got rained on in the pasture this summer. Thankfully and surprisingly we never lost power. All of the animals were in the barn and had no clue about the weather. Hopefully all of you made it through OK too!

Hope everyone made it through the storms without damage.
Had a fantastic day even with the horrible weather!

We went to Markle today and finally own cows! DH managed to pull of a swap/trade deal! Picked up 3 calves, 1 Holstein and 2 mixed breed. I see lot of jersey in the mixed ones. All bulls. Will not leave them intact, getting a bander this week. Will need one for kidding this spring anyway, to wether any boys.
The 2 "mutts" are about 1 1/2 weeks old, the Holstein is lucky to be 3 days. Drove right through that storm to get back, and put the babies on fresh hay. Our Livestock trailer is partially enclosed so they will stay in there a few days away from drafts. Got a warm bottle into all 3. We have named them already! Tbone, Ribeye and Sirloin

Adorable! I'd love to be able to raise our own beef, too!

Good morning all! Lebanon got hit really hard by the storm. I had a tornado touch down and pass along the back pasture fence. My poor neighbor saw the whole thing. We got very lucky, no damage. I do know that one of the tornado's was right in the vicinity of Old Salt - has anyone heard from him? I was thinking about him last night when I heard where the damage was. I was watching the news this morning and was getting really irritated by the lack of news in Lebanon. It kept getting mentioned as one of the hardest hit areas, but instead of showing the damage or doing any real reporting, let's show you the ONE building that got destroyed in Marion County. Soooo frustrating!
