I just looked in the Chicken Health for Dummies and on page 184 it has a list of parasitic worms that you can use to identify the gross thing and then it has the list of what to do about each one. I wish my printer/scanner hadn't hit the floor last week or I'd take good pics like M2H for you. but on page 186, they give you the list of medications and have dosages for them in the appendix. Maybe you can find a copy locally or check your library? I think Amazon has the download if you have some sort of reading device too.EEEEK! If it was a round worm then you can use wazine dewormer pretty available in all farms stores. If you want something that will also treat for other worms, I've been hearing great things about valbazen. I just saw it was available at Big R in Wabash, haven't checked to see if its at other locations.EEEEK! I found a round worm in the morning poos of my big chickens! Go ahead and tell me dosing if you can. I haven't gotten the Wazine yet. I just want the worms gone. I noticed that my girls feathers looked rough lately, but I figured molting. Now I think it is from the worms. I would rather not toss eggs, but the idea of a worm getting into the eggs makes me want to toss them anyway. TSC has rooster booster, but I thought it was just vitamins.Been there! Def way up there on the YUK Scale!
Ok...well I use Ivermec pour-on (for cattle bought at Rural King) and it worked and I didn't have to toss eggs! I've tried to do a ton of research on meds that allow me to not have to toss them...hate that!...Also Jeffers pet supply on line has Rooster Booster which is actually intended for poultry and doesn't require egg tossing. If you decide to go with Ivermec let me know and I will post what I found for dosing.
Good luck!
I would prefer to use the Rooster Booster but I haven't found it near me. TSC is far enough that I have never been! lol Anyway, if you decide to use the Ivomec pour on I just use a little child syringe for administering meds, pour it into a small cup and pull it from there as it's too difficult to try getting it out of the container.Go ahead and tell me dosing if you can. BTW it does not treat for tapeworms. Prob want to confirm what you have are roundworms and not tapeworms. Pretty easy to distinguish the two.I would prefer to use the Rooster Booster but I haven't found it near me.
