INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Brad if you are going to redo the door again whatch your glass cutting area for a PC of damaged plexy glass the thick stuff and make it total see threw like the ones for the sportsman that's what I was going to do

Just to let everyone know.

Out TSC has chicks in. Brookville Road, Indianapolis.

Currently stocking Leghorn pullets and SLW unsexed.

Dead excited, going to have to check in daily to see what they have. Girl said they were not due in for a few weeks yet. Happened to pop in there on the off chance.

I will continue letting everyone know what they bring in, she said the breeds are different at different stores... sooo..
If there happens to be a breed someone is particularly interested in, but they are not available by them, let me know and I will be more than happy to pick them up and we can meet someone where for a transfer.

Boy it's been busy on here!

greensburgs TSC did not get theirs in, they were supposed to on Monday. So any day now.

and back to the EE thing. Do the babies have colored legs as well? Some of the mixed Bantys I got in the first batch from RK have greenish legs.

sure is fun to see everyone else's excitement and experiences!!

i'm just hatching mutts, i have two rooster, a glw and an ee, over some other mutt hens and a couple ss, glw, nh, rsl. the ss, glw, nh, rsl, and some columbian crosses were my original flock from mthelathy hatchery. the mutts of chicks i hatched from them crossed with a rsl rooster and an ee. i get some interesting looking chickens, one in particular that i hatched is all silver and laced. i'm assuming that she was hatched from the glw egg and the ee but know way to tell. i really want to get back to a large white rooster to cover my hens to breed bigger dual purpose that look nice when they are plucked. hate black pin feathers!!!!!

In passing chat @ Karps feed in Hobart, I asked what breeds they carried, he said it varied, but if there was a certain breed you were looking for, that they will place orders and you can pick them up there.

Didn't have time to dive into details, prices etc, and I will most definitely be doing so next time I'm in there.

I didn't even think about that! You think the 1/4" thick plexiglass would be thick enough? Or if anyone has a sportsman clear door, how thick is it?

I would imagine 1/4" to be sufficient enough, although the thickness will be dependant on the size of the door itself. Bigger door=thicker material to prevent warping/twisting.

Cutting tthick plexi is a load of fun too. Best way I've found is tape off both sides and cut down the middle with a jig saw, keeping your cut edge as close to your work table as possible.
My plexi project looked as though I tried to chew my piece off....lol

Ah, here we go, the sportman door is acrylic, and measures 29-5/8" x 15-1/2" x 1/2"

I would assume 1/4" plexi would be a decent equivilant, you could go 3/8" if your worried about the door flexing, but it will cost more. A lil weather stripping around the frame would keep unwanted leaks out too.
