Thanks, I don't really care what breed they are but to have the people from the other thread be nasty about it was uncalled for. How do us newbies learn If we don't ask questions? I'm glad my chicks aren't ameraucanas if the people I thought would help me learn about them are going to be so rude. I'm so glad the people in the Indiana thread are so nice and willing to help me and answer questions as I learn about my new breed.

Just realized one of my Ameraucana's legs are hooked.

And one of my NHR's I got from feed store 1 of its legs are hooked.

Yeah, I didn't wanna burst a bubble or bring ya bad news, but getting the whole structure up off the ground is the only way to keep it dry. If you have some extra man power one weekend it shouldn't be too hard (I guess that all depends on coop size though).

But if the floor is wet, the bottom rails and bottom stud ends as well as the sheathing material are probably wet too.

Its 4x4x about 6 tall.... idk how heavy, probably pretty heavy

Ah,that doesn't seem too large to get up on some blocks. I would take 2 8' 2x4's and screw them on the outside of the coop, making sure to hit the studs. Should leave 2' sticking out on each end for lifting handles, tip one side up, slide under blocks, lift other end up and slide in blocks. Build floor by framing out the inside and boom done.

You had a run-in with the self-appointed Ameraucana police? That can get pretty ugly.

Don't hold it against the breed, though. It's the fan club that makes them look bad.

good and bad news good news is we might be keeping our house but it wont be our it will be someone elses but well be living in it
bad news is we might have to get rid of my dogs and my cat :/ and maybe the chickens :/
