Thanks a lot jchny- now I am hunting for scovies!!!!!!!!!!!

a couple of weeks my DBF said, "hey maybe we can try raising some ducks." and i said "umm how bout no!" but that was before i knew about scovies, and u make them sound so nice!!! So my question is:
---Where does one find scovies? I have checked numerous websites. Found one that has some, but minnimum is i think 15, and there's no way we can have 15 ducks running around. So if anyone wants some muscovy ducks and wants to go halvsies, let me know. Or if anyone knows where to get some, please let me know. I'm thinking 5 would the maximum that we could have.

I have some muscovys, I'll sell you ! LOL !!

It could be, and so far mine aren't very active. Hens look really good. But i did move a lot of roosters to freezer camp recently too.
Wondering what age a rooster "slows down"? Red, my GLW isn't as "busy" as he used to be

Gus' issue is that he has favorite hens. Some of my hens look great. Its the four hens with bald backs he prefers. I could never send him to freezer camp. I can't kill my birds anyway, but he is a really sweet boy. Just a little over amorous with those girls. I may put those hens in their own coop for awhile and let them feather back out. Not sure what else to do.

I couldn't do that with the silkies either. Giving those girls a break may be best for them. Then he might also take interest in your other hens.

Lol it's not the silkies this time, it's the big kids. Gus is sl/wyandotte. He is tearing up the sl/wyandotte girls and my EE

They are striking

The lavenders are my favorites, I do have the pair of blacks. they look like barred in these pictures, but now you can barely see the barring, but they have a beautiful green sheen now, The are for sale, and, I'll be selling alot of the lavenders. Actually I'll be selling alot of my birds this spring. got some Sebastopols, selling all my paint silkies, . I'm going to go down on all of them, and just keep enough to hatch for us to show. No extras are staying. I want to cut down, we want to be able to go camping and do some stuff, and nobody wants to take care of as many birds as I have,. !! LOL !!

Yep, You get much better bird from breeders too, in my opinion. If you don't mind me asking, what 2 breeds?

I am trying to find real Ameraucana's Blue and or wheaten and Blk copper Marans for a good price. I'm not rich by no means and no way can I pay 20.00 for chicks.

So someone tried to tell me that Peaches is a splash EE, and that's why Cricket is blue. But peaches is peach! LOL She does have a little blue or gray in her head that makes her look dirty all time. Any EE peeps that have an opinion on this?
