Their eggs are pretty small. you could egg or pickle them. We have them for pets and show

Do you know how many weeks out it would be before you get them? I would really like a Salmon Faverolle if I could coordinate getting her at the same time as a couple of others I'd like.

I have a long wishlist but I can only squeeze it into about 4, maybe six chicks.  This year I'm also hoping to get a Buckeye (hopefully from LAM), a Black Copper Marans, an Orpington (not sure what kind), a Swedish Flower, and a Welsummer.  EE's are always welcome around here too!

Here is a link to their page: http://www2.dupont.com/Virkon_S/en_GB/index.html.  I know its important to clean everything well, but its just in my nature to mistrust things made by companies like Dupont.  I wish there were something more natural I could use, but from all of my reading, this is the only one that specifies Marek's.

I remember seeing this one at the fair.  It was so amazing in person, just gorgeous!  My kids and I spent a long time trying to get a look at its face because it often seemed to be turning away from people...not that I blame it from being crowd shy.

Today is just a little crazy.  I am not kidding that last night may have been the worst night of sleep in the history of sleep.  It was comical how bad..:th My whole family has been trying to get over a sinus cold for the last few weeks.  Our two youngest ended up with sinus/ear infections.  They both got antibiotics and seemed to be on the mend, but now for some reason some of us are now sick with upset stomachs.  I was so excited yesterday when my little girl finally went to school.  Last night I go to bed and she wakes me up at two by getting sick all over my bed...GROSS.  :sick  So we take showers, get into her bed.. Almost asleep...little Max (recovering from surgery) comes to get me because he wants outside...almost asleep... thunder and lightening start...almost asleep... son wakes up...almost asleep...water softener kicks in and wakes son up again...almost asleep...storm comes AGAIN...sleep...alarm goes off to get kids to school...is anyone going to school today???? I have no idea because I can't think. :idunno My DH is having the most important week of his career right now and he was also up all night. I think we met in the hallway around 5 am just laughing because we were so tired and there was no hope in sight.  This parenting gig is so not for the wimpy! I am so looking forward to the weekend :D .  I know I'm whining, but I just want to let you know if I send out anything truly crazy later on today, you will know what happened.  I'm just a little kookier than usual today.

Thank goodness all of my chickens are healthy because with one cat, one dog, and all family members on medicine right now, I need alarms to remember who takes what when!

Ugh! I'm sorry! We've been having nights like that too. Not quite as bad as your night but DS is always a struggle to get to bed and now wants to get up at 4:30 or 5 every morning!! I've managed to get him to go back to bed the last 3 mornings just in time for DH to get up to go to work and then DS is back at 7:30 when I've finally gotten back to sleep!! Anyways, sympathizing!

I'm contemplating placing an order for pullets soon with Strombergs.  There's a minimum of 25 chicks before April and also a breed minimum of 5.  The breeds I'm thinking of are speckled sussex, blue laced red wyandotte, mottled java, salmon favorelle and California white.  I think I may only keep about 3 of each though.  If I do get an order placed in the next couple weeks would any of you be interested in the extra pullets?

Ooo I wish I was closer to you! I'm looking to add some blue laced reds and salmon favorelles!

I must be more desperate for new chickens than you. Lol I'm driving 285 miles one way to pick up 6 chicks, two ducklings and some eggs ( don't know how many of them). I get to meet Lilmizcareall and SallyinIndiana. Am looking forward to the trip on so many levels!
Even if it is over 560 miles! Lol

Its just been one thing after another that is preventing us from getting back in the groove since Christmas...mostly the weather. I really like being in a rut, I'm a rut kind of girl, so all this up and down with kids in and out of schools, early outs, late ins, sub zero, happy about 30s, raining when it is 30, 57 with thunderstorms when I still have 8" of snow on the ground, its just crazy. Thank goodness we are all still trying to keep our sense of humor and be extra nice around here. Even with all the weirdness, I know I'm still a lucky girl.

AND- I really hope your son gets back on track. Its really hard when everyone is out of sync. He's still young enough for a nap time isn't he? Wasn't he one of the babies at the Poultryfest?

Have you ever try essential oils. I have terrible sinuses, usually 4-6 infections a year, When my sinusis act up. I take 8-20 thousands miligrms of vit c. and put essentil oils in my candle warmer. and I haven't had infection for 2 yrs, since I've been doing this. haven't gotten sick either, though everyone around me is sick.

Sympathizing with all the lack 'o sleep crew. Dogs woke me up barking at 4am. Looked out the window and the local coyote pack was in our yard near the barn. Got dressed and took the dogs out with me to the barn. Made sure to make a lot of noise on the way there. Didn't find any issues around the chicken and turkey pens, so made a loop around the barn. Then the thunder and lightning started and my big brave coyote chasing dogs basically drug me back to the house. That pretty much ended the night for me, couldn't get back to sleep. Combined with a few other sleepless nights recently, I'm pretty much in zombie mode. I'm right there with ya on counting down to the weekend.

Thank you Johnny 2000 for adding me!

I would like to know if anyone out in the Northern Indiana area has a lavender polish frizzle or a buff splash polish frizzle chicks that they are willing to sell?

Don't care if they are hens or roosters, as chicks with most you cannot tell. I am only looking to add two.

I am also looking for the same coloring in Ameraucana, orpington or EE. Again just wanting one of each of 2 of same breed.

Wanting some "spice" to my coop and egg collection. :) All chickens are and will ONLY ever be used as PETS!!!

I do not come on here enough times, so if you want to send me an email you may reach me @ [email protected] or plz call my business
@ 260 637-0060 and ask for Debi.

Thanks everyone :)
