2 of them have feathered legs!! And I don't want to tell DH. he got them from a local breeder he said, the guy also said he Vac. them but DH couldn't remember for what. the are 3 days old. I got pic's but I don't think you can see them well enough to tell anything but here they are what do you think?

the yellow one is one with feathered legs, hope it a she and turns out White. How can I tell male from Female? or can I ?
Maybe a white cochin, does she have a straight comb? Or a brahma. Also at three days old they should be growing wing feathers. That would be the only way I can think of to sex them feather sexing. Cochin pullets grow wing and tail feathers faster than boys. If you can get pics of them individually, I can take a guess at your slw and the yellow one. Im not very familiar with the other breeds though.

They look like day olds to me. What color is your other feather leg?

For reference here are my slw and cochins as few day olds.
Jules (pullet longer feathers) more eye liner

Gus (shorter wing feathers) Also thicker legs

Blueberry, Lavender, Pebbles, Pearl (slw pullets)

Blueberry nearly non-existent wing feathering at a day old

Lavender little wings poking out day old

Better shot of wings. Male taller stance, thicker legs, less wings

Will probably be setting eggs tomorrow in the incubator, but since we've never hatched eggs before, had a couple questions for those with more experience:
i have got a couple of accurite digital therm/hygrometers in the unit + 2 of the little bulb thermometers + the combo gauge on the lid. Question is should i trust one or the other type to be more accurate or reliable since they dont all read exactly the same (+/- 2 deg & aprox 10+ humidity variance), or would it be better to use an average between the high & low readings?

The really puffy one in the back, kinda chip muk markings, I have no wing feathers at all on any of them. Will try to get better pic's tomorrow when they are not so stressed out.

Well without the feathered legs the chipmunk could def be EE, buuuut, with the feathered legs I would call mix or partridge cochin. They both appear to be bearded, so it's a mystery LOL. I'm very happy for you that you got some cute little ones to take away some of the pain from this week.

Can ducks and chickens live together? Or geese and chickens? I mean coop and free range and all. My crazy mind is now going to geese and ducks. Somebody help me. I'm losing it.

Brads right, They will trash out the bedding fast. Gets mucky and damp rally quick
My scovies are housed in my main coop right now and I am fighting the mess daily.
Be glad when the ground thaws, so we can get more coops set up

I want two female ducks. I have a coop to use for them, and we have pools out in the pasture in the summer they can use. I may be crazy, but we need them to eat the slugs. Is there any definite way to get two females? Btw any updated pics of the black silkie chick??? Im antsy to see how it is turning out!
