INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Sassy chix- I have an all black TW but he just doesn't have that neck. There have been a few freesians on Craiglist but not in my price range! Maybe someday.

That's like stealing someones dog or cat. These lavenders are pretty hard to find, and the fact they were grown, the family have had them a while. I was just

If we didn't try to help I would have felt even worse about it.

You know when your addicted to chickens when you change your ringtone on your phone to chickens crowing and squawking
. lol
OH YES I DID!!! LOL

It heartbreaking for someone to steal your chickens or anything for that matter. Wish I could do something to help. Even help replacing them still would leave a void in their heart and nobody can replace that fully except by getting them back.

Nope the only eggs that hatched that i picked up from you were 3 campine.
Sorry to hear that. If you want the single Campine I hatched you can have it. Otherwise it will just be added to my free ranging flock. 6 out of 10 birchen eggs hatched for me which I'm happy with for shipped eggs. But 2 have the leg issues. Hopefully the one with straddle leg will heal quickly. The other one I'm still debating what to do. Not sure if I should cull it or just see how it goes. The last things want to do is keep it alive if its in pain or discomfort.

RE: STOLEN LAVENDER ORPINGTONS: The people who had their Lavender Orpingtons stolen are very thankful for the support of the Indiana BYCers! If all of our members post the web poster version on Facebook, websites, emails, and also print a few copies of the larger to post around town, that would be a tremendous help both to the family and to discourage other thieves. They said that they would keep me updated if they find anything out.

RE: PEOPLE TRESPASSING ON YOUR PROPERTY, looking in barns, etc. I have read that because of the popularity of TV shows like "American Pickers," people are going crazy scavenging on other people's properties, especially rural ones with barns and equipment. People are even stealing old signs and barber shop poles, etc. from businesses to re-sell because they see these pickers on TV finding treasures and making money. I'm sure people are nosing around for other reasons, but I just wanted to mention this because apparently it has been really prevalent since those treasure hunter types of reality shows have been such a hit.

I would love to have the campine but would feel bad since it was your only one!
