Anyone ever seen a backwards barred rock?

The roo was a barred rock. Not sure the hen. I just think she's pretty because she's mainly white with black barring rather then the normal black with white barring.

Very pretty! Looks a bit like my Egyptian Fayoumi, Marama!

Fayoumis (and Campines and penciled Hamburgs) are not barred, though, but 'transverse penciled'. So basically, Marama does not carry the barring gene.

As far as her appearance... Do you have a columbian or silver duckwing patterned hen that could be the mother? Or maybe birchen? Those would be my best guesses for how she turned out. Since females are incapable of being double-factor barred (otherwise known as light barred, like the pure barred males are), she would have to have some other genetic component in there to make her so light.

Silver laced Wyandotte is the only other hens. No Colombians or duckwings.

I have another that hatched last year that looks close to the hen I posted. But her white is a lot less. She fades to black towards the rear of her.

These three wouldn't happen to be siblings to the believed-to-be porcelain Silkie I got from you last year, would they? :love Oh, that's so tempting!!

Nope, unrelated to her. I'm still on the fence of selling these guys. I just bought a trio of English buff orps and could use their pen for them. Otherwise I'll just have to make room lol.

Aw, oh well. They really are gorgeous either way! :love

English Orpingtons, as in the BIG fluffy ones (LF) or the slightly smaller fluffy ones (bantam)? How many projects / pens are you up to now?

The big fluffy ones (atleast they should be lol). You really going to make me count huh?

Silkies/showgirls in partridge, black/blue, and white
Bantam Cochins in partridge, lavender barred, and lemon barred
Modern game bantams in Birchen/blue silver, blue, black, splash, and brown red
Brahmas in gold/buff laced and gold/blue partridge
BLRW
Mixed color silkie pen (drastically downsizing this pen)

Projects in the works
Tolbunt polish (decided to start all over again)
Ayam cemani (please, please, please hatch! Lol)
English orpingtons in jubilee, mottled, and buff (not 100% sure what I'm going to do with these. Might just make them my free ranging birds)

The only free ranging birds I have right now are hatchery NN, white rocks, and brown leghorn. I've sold off my Birchen Marans and legbars.

I think that is all until I get my hands on those silver laced barnies you guys keep talking about! I've seen them available in both LF and bantam.
