INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Got to experience my first issue with ground predators the last couple nights. Saw a opossum running through the yard two nights ago when I was pulling up after work. By the time I got in and got the gun out of safe and loaded he was long gone. Didn't notice any missing but didn't really take accurate counts. Didn't see him last night or tonight. That is until I opened up one of the coops. The dirty little guy was huddled in the corner with 3 dead chickens around him. i was trying to shoot him through the chicken door instead of lifting the lid and putting me within 2 ft of it but now I have to patch a few bullet holes in the coop too lol. I guess I'm not that great of an aim in the dark with a hand gun. Regardless I was successfully able to eliminate the threat!

My neighbor where I used to live shot 2 big holes in his coop trying to shoot a mink with a shotgun.

Lol. I originally grabbed the shotgun but thought of the damage it might have caused. Then considered the 22, but the. If I couldn't get it through the chicken door, I didn't want to have to manage a rifle when the "rat" is only 2 feet away. So I chose the .380 hand gun. It got the job done lol.

And Granny, yes I'm positive lol. When I checked the coop the first time I saw them all dead with the "rat" huddled in the corner.

Get ready! Just heard the weather forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day- the Midwest could see a major snow event !

Oh man, I am so sorry. I have had the buggers fall asleep in a nest box, they are not a nice predator.to deal with. Dirty animal, usually feeds off dead creatures but will sure eat eggs and chickens heads off

Brad its pretty upsetting what possums can do in a day. The most upsetting part is what birds they grab. Its usually the calmest breeds we want to keep.

I have 2 ganders left to rehome, or offer for Christmas dinner

Here is the dad as a young fella last year, He is a very protective gander, and his boys all think they need to fight.to be the big fella too. Downsizing so please pm if interested.
