INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Last post.. looking for anyone interested in being a contributor to keep our thread alive and growing. When I started our thread I promised to keep it alive and thriving. Anyone interested to help, we need contributors. Please PM me if you have a little free time, and want to keep our thread going.

Would love to help! New to chickens, and live right across the river in KY, but I have loved the info and pics and friendships here! So anything I can do I'm in! :)

I'd like to contribute... I'm just not sure what exactly I would contribute. Please PM me with more info!

I'm with you! I WILL no longer paying premium $ for hatching eggs. It honestly is not worth it if you are trying to set up a breeding flock. Started birds and chicks are definitely the way to go! Looking at buying a pair or two of Good Shepherd barred rocks as we speak after spending g a fortune on eggs that never developed/hatched. I'd rather have a trio or quad but may settle for the 2 pairs.

There is a high demand for barred rocks. If your roosters are nice and friendly, I may get some from you in a few years. So far every barred rock rooster I have raised has turned mean, of course they were hatchery BR from the feed stores pullet bins.

Looking for splash silkies if anyone close to Louisville Ky has any for sale. I have been searching for a long time and haven't had any luck. If you have some or know someone that does, can you send me a message with information please.

EEEEEEK! Thanks for posting!
Oh man, I am so sorry. I have had the buggers fall asleep in a nest box, they are not a nice predator.to deal with. Dirty animal, usually feeds off dead creatures but will sure eat eggs and chickens heads off

The easy way to do a possum in is to whack pretty hard across the nose or between the eyes. They will then usually play possum( no pun intended). Pick them up by the tail put the stick across their neck and pull until you here a pop. That is their neck breaking. Old trappers trick..
