Quote: I was taking 50 cents off for bringing cartons. But still I would get back mismatched cartons, not the ones I sent out. And some people did not care about the 50 cents. Then with the changes in how many eggs I had available, getting regular buyers was hard so it became a friends and family thing.
@Leahs Mom I have a few pullets that I hatched late in the summer, heritage breeds, no eggs yet. The BLRW seem to be the least ready to lay.
I have 7 month old pullets that have still yet to lay for me. They are brahmas (from my understanding are a slow maturing breed) and the BLRW.:/ Still not a sign that the 31 wk old pullets are EVER going to lay around here.
Yea mine are early May and early June hatches. I don't think I've heard the roos crow yet either and certainly haven't tried mounting the pullets yet. These girls were late May hatch so I was surprised. The others of the breed layed around 20-22 weeks. Maybe they're duds? (That's "duds" not "dudes".) I guess they'll have to do 2 a day to make up for it when they get started.![]()
I need Russian orlaffs
Fertle eggs for a dollar
