INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Could not be happier!! This incukit kicks ***, it only wavers .3 degrees up and down!! I keep on resetting the min/max on my thermometer /hygrometer thinking I might see it change more than that!! Humidity is holding at 45-47!! Does anybody adjust the temps the farther along they get?

Looks great!!! I really, really love that viewing window!
What kind of heat source do you have?
I believe the pros (with circulated air temp of 99.5'F) decrease the temp just a little when it's time to hatch. Humidity fluctuations are not as important during incubation, but must increase when it's time to hatch. There's a "hatching 101" guide that's awesome for those little details.

The heat source is a 100w kit from incukit. It has the heating element, fan, and digital thermostat all in one unit. I read the "hatching 101" and I am going to get the humidity up to 70ish at lockdown. This is our first hatch, Friday is our first candle!! (Day 7)

Very nice incubator. If you were closer, I might try to get you to help me make a 2-3 tray hatcher. It would make sorting the different breeds of chicks I have a bit easier.

THANKS!! It really is very simple, stopped at a 2nd hand store and just let the mind wonder on what I could use. It helped that I looked a nearly every bator pic on BYC

I was talking to the person giving me some physical therapy about her refrigerator. It was a nice three door LG that had everything but a tv and kitchen sink; Really nice and she loved it until a part went bad. No problem just call the repair man. Fridge fixed under warranty everything was fine for about six weeks and the fridge quit again. Call repairman he comes out said it is the same part that he had replaced. So ok fix it. Well okay but no parts in the US it would have to come from Germany. Well how long will that be. Approximately 3 months. That's all okay because IT STILL IS UNDER WARRANTY, What ever happened to the appliances our parents bought that lasted 20 years???
You aren't kidding!

It took me 3 freezers to get one that worked. I had an old Frigidaire from the 70's but then instead of paying for a major repair when it broke, I got a new one. THe new one did not get cold in the first 3 days so away it went and another one came. That one lasted about a month till water started pouring out. So my current one is here. I almost always choose the protection plans now. I know the manufacture warranty covers most of the early stuff but still I get the protection plans just to keep the coverage longer.
X2, I had the same microwave 15 years. Since then, have had 3!

I have learned to touch less, candle less and hatch more

I now only candle around day 10, and at lockdown. If the temp only varies a few 10ths of a degree, I would just leave it be.

well got the ground all dug and the base is in....FINALLY
