Quote: Will you be selling chicks?

Are the RIRs the only ones you will be hatching?

If she doesn't sell or if she is out, I'll be selling heritage RIR this spring. I don't ship and I prefer to wait until they are about 4 weeks old to sell them so I can pull a few of the roos out. I'm going to try and avoid getting emails and phone calls asking for a free hen because to many chicks turned out roosters when I sold straight run.

Editing to add: I hope to have the following breeds for sale by late spring as well as the RIR.
BLRW
Sumatras
Blue Palm Turkeys
Possibly Cream legbars in a small supply
And a few mutts as some consider them healthier.

So I lost my tom Turkey 2 weeks 6 days ago. I got a turkey egg today. Any chance it is fertile or should I just crack it and enjoy.

It's possible. I noticed my hens were giving me fertile eggs for over 2 weeks after we got rid of our roo. We weren't looking to add chicks, so we just ate them. If you miss your precious Tom, then it wouldn't hurt to try to hatch it.

So I am planning on starting a sizzle project. I have a frizzle bantum cochin roo and 3 black silkie girls and 1 white silkie girl I plan to use. The cochin is a mix of colors. I will get a pic tomorrow. Can anyone give me any advice or places to look up or read about when it comes to sizzles. like what you need and what genes and stuff will make a sizzle. I've look up a few things on the internet, but there doesn't seem to be to much info out there. Also if anyone else is doing sizzles I would love to hear your experiences. Thanks in advance guys.
