INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Here is my silly little flock surpise. I hatched a few mixed flock eggs not too long ago and got her. I think she looks blue cream, but I don't have lavender in my flock, soooo, it's a mystery. :) As a chick and then today.... My other Blue cream girls... I'm going to breed them to him this summer... if anyone wants hatching eggs. :)
Count me in! ;)

Received my sportsman today! Can't wait to get home and get it plugged in! I did notice the door has a dent in it from shipping. I've emailed the seller to see how they will rectify the issue. I'm hoping they just send a new door. And if that's the case I'd love to just pay the difference and upgrade to the full clear door. We will see!
I have the door that came with my sportsman. I upgraded to the clear door. The original door is dusty as it has not been in use for a while. I used it for about 14 days just so I could start setting eggs right away. I'd be willing to give it to you for eggs or even nothing as I just don't need it.

LOL not me.....I'd get myself in a lot of trouble. I wish they had a mini Cabinet incubator....someone seriously needs to take that idea and run with it! Something that will hold more than 50 but fewer than HUNDREDS of eggs.

I can't even imagine where I would put that many chicks.....seriously, how do you guys brood them?

Count us in on eggs now that I will be building a silkie/bantam coop! Those are very nice looking silkies kab

So I thought I may have a nervous breakdown today!

Seriously!

So the new chicks..I went to vaccinate today and I was a bit distracted for a few seconds and it led me to overlooking a vital step! Injecting the vaccine into the dilutant..(MD-Vac CFL, Mareks vaccine, live virus)

I vaccinated 8 of 10 chicks with only 3 ml of the dilutant in the vaccine! When it should have been injected into a 200 ml bottle of the dilutant before injecting into the chicks! I was a cursing mess!! I thought I was going to vomit and that the chicks were probably going to just drop dead! Keep in mind this little vile when injected into the dilutant vaccinate 1000 chicks!

I called the manufacturer and they put me through to a vet and he just chuckled (politely) and said it's probably not going to be all that bad. Even though there's no sure expectation on how they may react to it more than likely if they are healthy they may act a little off for a bit while their bodies fight a little harder but they should be fine. They are. Still just as active and eating drinking fine for about 10 hours now. Poor babies! I was crushed there for quite some time! Needless to say it's a mistake I won't make again!

I've done the vaccine on many batches of chicks and I can't believe I did it but...I did!

I'll let you know. I'd be happy to pay you for it (be it in money or eggs). Hopefully they make it right. I should be able to use it with the dent, but after paying nearly $800 I'd prefer it not to have the dent lol.

thanks. Can't wait to load it up this week!

lots of Rubbermaid totes and 60watt light bulbs. I'm trying to figure out if the gqf stack brooder is in the budget this spring. I don't think it is but eventually I will be getting that for brooding. I
bought a shed kit before quitting Lowe's. I'm planning on building that this spring and use that for my brooding to get them out of the house! I'm tired of the dust!

ISO 2 American buff, or Sebastopol geese. I would prefer two females since they would have to be integrated into my existing chicken and duck flock. Anyone know where I can find a couple female goslings?
