INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I want an araucana so so bad! Does anyone have one? Will throw dollars at you!!

I just bought two from Chicken Scratch Poultry. I LOVE them! I was on a waiting list at Sky Blue Egg but they are auctioning and the birds start a $100. Crazy isn't it, but they have a low hatch rate.

I decided to go with breeding Legbars. They have a better hatch rate but the temperament is not as friendly as the Araucanas.

Good to know!! Thank you for clarifying. New to Ameraucanas. I am purchasing 3 on Saturday.

Hello! It kinda threw me seeing pictures of my birds, lol ...ones that I didn't post :) See you Saturday!

I did the same thing. I got several EE before I found a breeder with nice birds. I drove 2 hours once. Now I always ask for pictures before I make a trip. I will say my Easter Eggers are sweet birds and pretty good layers. I have quite a few breeds now and really like the variety of egg colors.

I was gonna buy all these birds but heard the quality was bad so decided not to. I wonder if they'll sell me any lol

I am really pleased, scored! 3 rolls of fencing half price, brand new. More coops! My goal is to have everyone securely cooped with plenty of space by winter. They don't run around much that time of year and its less worry on me counting heads. Easier to spot if someone is ill also. Winter is always harder especially with some of my birds getting older.
Am pleased to say I actually had 3 extra roos this year and thats it, be an easy fix. At least 2 are rehomed already. Have to look at the duck flock in another month to make sure there's not too many drakes. All the others species are well set for winter.

Gorgeous, I have heard very good comments about them also. I actually had planned on their stock for my Lavender orps, but they weren't available when I was ready.

I have a Lavender Orp from her as well as two Oliver Eggers. She is my "go to" when I can't find a breed close. I have Legbar chicks coming from Greenfire next week to add to my Legbar flock and a trio of Welsummers coming from Dutch Connection. I will be ready to hatch babies next spring :)
