This is so important to our thread to keep it active and updated, so many folks are raising heritage birds now! The big box meat bird breeders gave a high production rate, granted. But I want to be sure I give my family a healthier choice, so many of us do. I want to know what foods made our eggs and fed our birds for the table. I guess my most important point is how they are treated. Any animal I keep I treat as a pet, regardless of the end purpose.
We have a huge amount of breeders listed on the member spreadsheet.

No I wasn't I had 13 br chicks and was trading 4 and was trying to determine which to trade.. Only two were darker then the rest I hope I didn't have 11 males and two females that would be a horrible ratio for straight run... Plus she wanted female not male.. Geeze I'm worried now.. One had a really big comb so I'm pretty sure that was a male but the rest were kinda light lol ugh

Sounds like you have the same rooster luck I have... it sucks it really does, unless you do alot of processing, which I know you dont.

So I put in my Spring order with McMurry. I breed my own EOs but wanted a bit of color to the egg layer pens so Ordered the Whiting true blues they just made available and some Cuckoo Marans. Kinda excited to see how the whitings do as layers. Anyone else have experience with those birds?

Took the kids to see Santa. (As usual we skipped the mall & went to the Bank, where the parents are encouraged to take as many photos as they wish & each child gets a stuffed Beanie toy, giant candy cane, & a long talk on Santa's lap.) Since they were dressed up, we took some Xmas photos too.

As usual chicken pics also ended up in my camera.

Here's my son's baby. She's a little too much chicken for him to handle, but boy do they love each other.












I'm sure all the people driving by our house thought I was nuts.

thanks!sold the guineas today. I have quite a few show quality rabbits and pets available too. I'm trying to save my money to get an Eclectus I want a bird friend in the house DH isn't keen on the idea (of course) lol. I'm trying to sell them before winter really hits as our preditor problem is just crazy. Had a raccoon tear my roo apart and just leave him. Only have 3 ducks left too. Trying to keep them. Hopefully nothing messes with the goats. Website also doesn't work right on Mobile only desktop shows all the different pages

I am on a laptop computer and cant get anything but a home page. No tabs for other things show up on mine.

4H forms all filled out online. 2 children signed up this year for mini 4H. The deadline is in January for those with 4 H kids.

Anyone here show 4 H goats? DO they have to have a tag in their ear. I tattoo my goats' ears and there is no way I'm interested in putting a tag in their ear as well.

According to my letter you only need 1 type of ID, either a tat or a tag, but not both.

My Website should be fixed but I know I use Chrome as a browser and it works on it as well as on mobile devices. ON the mobile devices it looks like a square with lines but on the actual website it should have tabs across the top
