Daddy Reuben saw them for the first time today. He was trying to find a way through the fence to be with Margie, so I picked one of the babies up out from under her and showed him, and I don't know if he was disgusted by these unknown creatures or just completely confused! Afterward, he just kind of backed off from the fence and stood like he didn't know what to do with himself!

Both of my Rouens and the one Khaki turned out to be girls, but I can't get girl Runners and Pekins to save my life. Wound up rehoming all of my ducks and have so far been successful in avoiding waterfowl... but Indy Rezone has me looking back into soon-to-be-banned birds. I'm tempted to get every currently-legal animal on the property just to give a rude gesture to the, but I know most of the soon-to-be-banneds won't work out here anyway. Doesn't mean dwarf goats, pheasants, geese, guineas, peafowl, turkeys, emu, etc aren't awesome... or that I'm any less tempted to borrow some for March 31. As is, I'm pretty darned interested in acquiring geese and seeing if they work out as pets here.
I should be outside doing yard work but I have this other project I'm doing for my best friend that she has no clue I'm doing!! I made this blanket for my sister in law for my nephew, I took my old bridesmaids dress and made it into a blanket. Well I'm doing the same for my best friend and her daughter, taking my bridesmaids dress that I wore in her wedding and making a blanket. She called me this morning telling me all these crazy dreams she's had which I remember those crazy pregnancy dreams! But she has dreamt a few times now that her daughter is coming early! She's due in 1 month! 3 days after my birthday!! So now I'm panicking a bit trying to get this blanket done over my spring break...oops! Thankfully my mother in law is taking my son over night so I plan on sewing sewing sewing sweat shop here tonight!!! Lol Here's a pic of the fabric cut out and kind of pieced together just to get an idea...the yellow fabric is the dress fabric. The pink fabric above is what's going on the back of the blanket and if I have enough around the edging on the front!

So pretty. I used to know how to quilt and use a sewing machine. Sewing machines may as well be particle accelerators now, though.

Most new fathers are like that--especially if they didn't know they were going to be fathers soon!

Hello out there! Looking for someone interested in bantam orpington roos. I have 2, one chocolate and one black that are approximately 11 months old. They are very handsome. I also have a hatch of bantam orpington chicks that are all chocolate. And I have a 1 year old male indigo peacock. If anyone out there is interested please message me and I can send pics!

Will be back on later to catch up. Thanks everyone for your kind words, unfortunately Gracie passed away between 330-4am. I feel she had too much blood loss as severe as her wounds were. Just devastated, my geese are my pets. I'm not convinced it wasn't a predator, I suspect a great horned owl if it was.
Aw, so sorry for you and Gracie.

Great news! I am switching to all tractors for breeder pens. My egg coop will be set up to where I can scrape out with the tractor bucket. Getting too old to be shoveling so much lol!

Great to see @racinchickins this morning for some swapping! I think we both like too many of the same breeds, animals and ideas, lol!
Had a nice, HUGE campfire and cookout tonight with @SallyinIndiana and the kids. We had a little rain but we filled in the time between sprinkles with movies for the kids, and just some time to relax and chat. Its nice to be able to enjoy a warm day and see good friends. My oldest nephew was of course in charge of the campfire! The children loved it, especially the red sparkles from the fire, and roasting hot dogs. Since all my kids are grown I really enjoyed the evening, and watching the kids have fun outdoors, just being kids.
