.CHICK RADAR REPORT!

Martinsville RK has hundreds of chicks and a bin full of ducklings!

Straight Run: RIR

Pullets: buff Brahma, ISA browns (2 bins of $2/ea on special!), Australorps, brown Leghorn, partridge Rock!

Don't Know: mystery, unlabeled bin of LF white chicks which were starting to feather with light brown tones.

Ducklings: a few Rouen, and a bunch of Khaki Campbell

Congratulate me on my willpower to get out of there without buying any. It was sooooooo hard... I'm not even sure which emoticon to stick in here, because I'm just that conflicted.
I didn't it make it I got 2 Khaki Campbell and Rouen

I should be outside doing yard work but I have this other project I'm doing for my best friend that she has no clue I'm doing!! I made this blanket for my sister in law for my nephew, I took my old bridesmaids dress and made it into a blanket. Well I'm doing the same for my best friend and her daughter, taking my bridesmaids dress that I wore in her wedding and making a blanket. She called me this morning telling me all these crazy dreams she's had which I remember those crazy pregnancy dreams! But she has dreamt a few times now that her daughter is coming early! She's due in 1 month! 3 days after my birthday!! So now I'm panicking a bit trying to get this blanket done over my spring break...oops! Thankfully my mother in law is taking my son over night so I plan on sewing sewing sewing sweat shop here tonight!!! Lol Here's a pic of the fabric cut out and kind of pieced together just to get an idea...the yellow fabric is the dress fabric. The pink fabric above is what's going on the back of the blanket and if I have enough around the edging on the front!

So this morning, Mama Marge is kind of back and forth between her wanting to sit all day and actually doing things! I'm hoping this means she's coming out of it now! :fl She started scratching and pecking this morning when I pulled her and the babies out of their cat carrier nighttime nest, but then settled down again like she was nesting. A little later, she decided she wanted to have a dust bath, but then once again she nestled down part way through her bath right in the dusting hole.

It was hilarious when she was dusting, though! She was pecking at the ground and getting ready, and the babies were lined up next to her watching. When she started kicking dirt up into her feathers, they all smushed themselves against the wall like they were horrified!
